Memories Of Bygone Days

South Korea October 3rd, 2018. 4 AM.

I remember this day so well. My friends, Yuri, Iseul, and Bora, have gone missing. I don't know what happened, and the police say they're doing everything they can. But something inside of me feels useless for not helping.

The last of my friends was seen in the forest. I couldn't wait for the police to solve the mystery. I needed to go myself. I wouldn't let anyone find my friends before me; they were my friends. I might be stubborn, but I couldn't care less; I was already going.

My parents were asleep, so it was my time to sneak out, but when I crossed the forest, my skin felt like it was crawling from the inside out. I could barely breathe; every second, I felt like going back, but if I did, would I have never found my friends?

Even so, I proceeded to walk into the forest for what seemed like seemed liked ages. I checked my phone, and it was already 6 AM. I had school, so I had to get back to my house, or else I might go missing, or even worse, my parents would call the police.

But from the outer corner of my eye, I glimpsed a sanctuary—a church of worship. I hesitated to go closer to it. My walks grew slower with each step I took, but I had to endure them. I had to find my friends.

When I finally entered the sanctuary, I was greeted with impressive stonework. The glass-stained windows filtered the sunrise, casting colours upon the floor. Due to its radiant aura, it seemed like the church was still well cared for. Someone still had a considerable reverence for this place.

Walking deeper into the building, I found a casket and a book. I turned the book around to see the title. It was in German, "Die Ätherische Symphonie der Transzendenz." When I scanned inside the book, it was all in Korean, which made it easier to comprehend the material inside.

But I heard a voice behind me, echoing through the sanctuary's walls.

"I always knew you were here—the almighty Liselotte, who killed hundreds in her lifetime." The person wore a black cloak, which hid most of the visible.

"Who are you? And who's Liselotte?"

"Ah, I forgot you're a new person, but your soul remains vicious and wicked. I've been watching you for a long time, So-Jin. Before I did anything, I had to be sure you were who you were. Your friends are in my captive, and your legacy of destinies ends here."

The cloaked person pulled out a dagger. The sharp part was shaped like a dragon's tail, and the handle was the head of the dragon.

They came racing towards me and pulled me down on the altar. But before anything could happen, a gunshot was heard.

BANG!
