The Blood We Share With Weltenschmerz

"Mein Fräulein, we meet again on this joyous day, have we not?"

As I turned, a voice unfamiliar yet strangely familiar reached my ears. My eyes met a figure clad in silver armour, a silver helmet resting on its right side. This person, of similar stature to Kaiserin, possessed a shock of blonde hair and piercing red eyes.

"Take a picture. It'll last longer."

Oh god, I didn't notice that I was staring that long. I cleared my voice and began to speak, "And who might you be?"

"Oh god, don't tell me your fever took away your memory, eh? We last met here some time ago. If you lost your memory, I'll come back later to meet you again to discuss our last conversation." The unknown man's words echoed in my mind, a puzzle piece that refused to fit into the larger picture of my memory.

Before the unknown man could depart, I seized their arm, my voice laced with a warning. "You've trespassed on noble grounds; don't think you'll escape so easily," I hissed, my grip tightening.

He could easily slip away. If he left now, I'd have to rely on guards to track him down. I had nothing to hold him back. This was my chance to uncover his identity.

I looked at him straight in the eye and cleared my throat. "I'm afraid I didn't recognize you at first. Sorry, I took you as some robber trying to get into my house."

The unknown man laughed and put his hands on my shoulders. "Do you remember me? Or are you fooling me?"

I shook my head and said, "Of course not! I was just scared and shocked!"

"Shocked enough for you to run after the "robber?"

He isn't convinced, but I can't do anything to prove that I know him. I need his name or something. Liselotte knew this person before I entered her body, but I should know him if he was relevant to her.

I replied, "You said you knew me, but it seems you don't know me well enough."

The unknown man chuckled a bit before removing his arms from my shoulder and speaking back, "Oh Mein Fräulein, I guess the person who knows best about themselves is themselves. But you are acting differently from when we met."

I regarded him with wide-eye innocence before speaking, "Oh, and how did I act?"

"Discontentment with the world mein Fräulein."

The unknown man took 360 from his playful attitude a second ago. Now, I'm starting to understand what Liselotte was like.

The unknown man looked a bit confused before resuming his sentence. "But, I'm surprised that you paid Die Meisterin a visit when you had me to solve your problems."

Die Meisterin? Anton? Is he related to him? How could I have not noticed? No, it was impossible to notice. He's wearing a full suit of silver armour. Is he like a bodyguard to him? No, I had never seen him around Anton once. Does he work with Anton? He seems like someone other than someone to work with divination. Wait maybe-

Before I could react, the unknown man touched my shoulders once more and said, "Mein Fräulein, you overthink. That's something I notice about you. Even now, you're overthinking more than you should be. Try not to obsess too much. Sooner than you know it, you'll be led down a rabbit hole of problems that wasn't there in the first place." His words, like riddles, left me with more questions than answers.

His words struck a chord within me, resonating with a truth I couldn't deny. He was right. I had been overthinking, allowing my fears and uncertainties to consume me. But what choice did I have? I yearned for the comfort of home, yet I was trapped in this surreal predicament, unable to escape the mysteries that surrounded me.
