Soul Displacement (1)

I awake from what seems like a long slumber. I had a dream about Haeun again, but I don't remember that happening, though it feels like it did.

I look around my surroundings to see a gothic revival-themed room. I know for sure this isn't my room—this definitely isn't my house. I stand up from my bed to see a note on the desk that came with the room.

"Get out of this world before your soul prevents it."

The note wasn't needs to be signed, but the person who wrote it knows my situation. The writer of this note has got to be somewhere in this building. I go towards the door; it's opened. The house was small; it had an indoor balcony, and there were stairs at the end of the hall. While walking down the hallway, I passed by three rooms already; the floor was creaky. If I went down the stairs, I'm sure anyone in the house could hear me go down.

I made a long decision before deciding not to go down yet. If these people don't mean good, I should check out something I could use as a weapon. I heard a feminine voice as I walked back to the room I woke up in.

"Leon! Are you back?"

I froze in place before trying to make it back to the room I woke up in quietly. But the steps towards the stairs got louder and louder. I had no time to walk back quietly; I had to run. The steps got creaky. She definitely knew I was awake.

I made it back to the room, but there was no lock. I grabbed the chair from the desk and used it to lock the door. But there were bangs on the door, and they came louder and louder.

"Countess, open the door! I'll explain everything that's happening! You're probably confused and scared, and I don't blame you! Please, I can explain!" The woman's voice got louder as she banged on the door.

As she kept banging on the door, I looked around for any weapon or something I could use to protect myself before replying, "You can explain things quite well from outside the door!"

I could hear the woman trying to get in and sigh as she stopped banging the door. "Your name isn't Liselotte, right? You're stuck in this random body right? It only means someone put a curse on you. We call it "Soul Displacement." Do you know anyone who could possibly resent you?"

Many people resented me, that's for sure. I wasn't the brightest person in Korea, but I swear I changed. I'm not the same person from when I was 16. He, I mean Haeun, changed me completely.
