The Knight

"The Church! We'll be safe there while we find out what's happening! But, it might be the flu that's going around."

Kaiserin looked at him intensely, nodding to every word he was saying. Honestly, this is a scene out of a comic book. Is this even happening?

Before I knew it, Kaiserin held my hand.

"Firstly, what's going on? How much of a threat is the other villagers?"

Dorian reacted as Kaiserin held my hand, but he ultimately remained poised.

"Those villagers won't stop until their heads and bodies are cut off. I've seen this before, so I know how to deal with it! Trust me, you and your wife are safe with me!"

I took my hand away from Kaiserin's grip and looked at him.

"He's right, Ka- I mean Chris. Let's go to the Church and-"

"No."

"Huh? What do you mean??"

"Esther, I'll stay here and fight off the enemies. You go with Dorian."

What is Kaiserin saying? Does he want to stay here and fight them? I trust in his abilities to fight, but for some reason I don't want to let him go.

"No, what are you saying? Come with us!"

"Yes, your wife is right! I even need to learn how to get rid of them! But I know how to keep us safe!"

Kaiserin smiled at me before looking around.

He stood up and went to the corner before looking back towards me and Dorian.

"This is quite a sword you have here, Dorian; I promise to return it in one piece."

"Chris! Your wife is here, begging for you! Please. I'm sure you're quite a swordsman, but I'm sure that alone won't eliminate the threats!"

Kaiserin, ignoring all of his statements, just went out.

He's gone.
