"Why should he come here of all places right now?" Henrik's face contorted into a frown, his displeasure obvious.

"He gave no explanation," replied Casimir.

"Tell him Henrik wishes to see him," Eve insisted firmly.

The two vampires exchanged a look of uncertainty.

"You can't...", Henrik started, but Eve cut him off.

"We have to," she insisted. "We need to find out whether this is a coincidence or if there's something more sinister behind it." Evelynn had lost her faith in coincidences; she was almost certain that Lucius was somehow involved in the prince's disappearance. However, she lacked hard evidence. That's why she needed to be there when Henrik confronted him.

"Tell him I'll meet with him," declared Henrik, signaling Casimir to leave them alone. As the door closed behind Casimir, Henrik turned to Eve. "What are you doing?"
