Chapter "Not The End"

Hisashi interjected hastily, "We're not!" Hanae responded swiftly, "It's okay. The doctor said you need care, and I know you live alone. My parents aren't home, and id you want then you can leave by tomorrow."

Subaru reassured, "Yeah, don't worry about him. I'll take care of him." Hanae added, "Hisashi, I'm just trying to help you. Nothing bad will happen, i promise”

Hisashi's voice cut through the tension, "Hanae, stop the car!" Hanae turned to face him, their eyes locked in a silent exchange.

After a moment, Hanae relented, "Alright." She instructed the driver, "Take us to Hisashi's house." With a nod from the driver, the car changed its course.

As the car came to a stop, Hisashi and Subaru exited. Hisashi turned to Hanae, expressing gratitude, "Thank you for everything. We're even now.”

Hanae nodded and instructed the driver, "Let's move." The car pulled away, leaving Subaru and Hisashi behind.

Subaru questioned, "Why is she behaving like this?" Hisashi reassured him, "Don't worry, she won't interfere anymore, and she won't come near us." Subaru nodded in understanding, and they both headed towards Hisashi's apartment.

The next morning, Hisashi and Subaru were fast asleep when the doorbell of Hisashi's apartment rang.

Hisashi, still groggy from sleep, reluctantly got up from the bed and made his way to the door. Opening it, his drowsy eyes widened in surprise as he saw Hanae standing there, holding a bag. Their eyes locked in a tense gaze.

"What are you doing here?" Hisashi's voice was sharp with surprise. Hanae stepped into the room, Showing him the bag. "I brought breakfast for you," she said calmly. Hisashi's eyes widened further in disbelief.

Suddenly, Subaru tumbled off the bed, grabbing both Hanae and Hisashi's attention. Rubbing his eyes, he looked up at Hanae, his eyes widening in shock. Jumping to his feet, he shouted, "What the hell is she doing here?"

Hisashi nervously replied, "I don't know." Hanae angrily stared at Hisashi and raised the bag of breakfast again, insisting, "I told you, I brought breakfast for you."

Subaru's voice rose in confusion, "Breakfast? Hisashi, what's going on between you two?”

Hanae stepped forward, her expression turning angry. "Wait a minute, what's really going on between you two? Are you both dating each other?" Hisashi and Subaru's jaws dropped in disbelief.

Hisashi retorted angrily, "Are you out of your mind? We're both straight!"

Hanae locked eyes with Hisashi, her gaze intense. "Well, I don't think so. You two sleep together, and he's acting like he's jealous of me."

Subaru snapped back, "Jealous of you? I'm just protecting my friend from an evil witch!”

Hanae's eyes widened in fury as she exclaimed, "What? Evil witch?" Her anger boiling over, she scanned the surroundings and spotted a frying pan. With a furious grab, she hurled it towards Subaru's face, but he deftly dodged it, causing the pan to clang against the wall behind him.

Subaru teasingly smirks at her, further fueling Hanae's rage. She stormed towards him, but Hisashi quickly stepped between them, halting Hanae in her tracks.

Hisashi intervened, his voice firm, "Enough fighting." He turned to Hanae, his expression questioning. "Why did you brought breakfast for us?"

Hanae's anger flared as she retorted, "Not for both of you, just for you.”

"But why?" Hisashi pressed, puzzled by her actions.

In a tone thick with frustration, she retorted, "Why ask why? After all the effort I put in, waking up early, preparing everything alone, and coming all the way here just to serve you, all I get is 'why'?" Hisashi and Subaru stood transfixed, their gazes fixed upon her as she radiated anger.

Hisashi hesitantly muttered, "Um, thanks." Anger still etched on her face, she snapped, "I'll set the table. You go freshen up. And if you're late, don't expect to eat anything." Hisashi nodded nervously, "Yeah, okay."

Subaru, visibly stunned, watched as Hanae shifted her glare toward him. "You stay put. Once Hisashi's done, then you can take a bath. I really don't want to, but if you're here, you can eat with us. Got it?" Subaru nodded anxiously in response.

With a stern glare, Hanae directed her anger towards Hisashi, who nodded in response and promptly made his way to the bathroom. Meanwhile, Subaru anxiously perched himself on the edge of the bed, waiting for further instruction. Hanae nodded, satisfied, before heading towards the kitchen.

Minutes passed, and Subaru remained seated while Hanae busied herself setting the table, carefully arranging each dish with precision.

Subaru's eyes remained fixed on Hanae as he questioned, "Why are you doing this?" Hanae continued setting the table, ignoring his inquiry. Undeterred, Subaru persisted, "I'm asking you something."

Pausing in her task, Hanae turned her gaze towards Subaru. "I'm doing this because I feel guilty," she confessed. "I shouldn't have lashed out at Hisashi. Now, I just want to help him, to ease my own guilt." With that, she resumed setting the table, while Subaru watched her intently.

As the bathroom door creaked open, Hisashi emerged, vigorously drying his hair with a towel. "Subaru, it's your turn for a shower," he called out. Subaru nodded, rising from the bed and making his way to the restroom.

Taking his place at the table, Hisashi's eyes wandered over the spread of dishes before him. Sensing his gaze, Hanae inquired, "What?"

A bright smile spread across Hisashi's face as he replied, "Did you really prepare all of this?" Hanae's eyes widened in surprise at the sight of Hisashi's genuine smile.

Hisashi's gaze lingered on her as he remarked, "You really have a talent for cooking." Hanae appeared taken aback, her eyes fixed on Hisashi.

"Hanae?" Hisashi's voice brought her back to the present moment. Quickly averting her gaze, she replied, "Yes, I made all of this. And I apologize if it's not up to par."

"It's alright," Hisashi reassured her with a smile. "I'm used to eating less-than-average or even half-cooked meals, considering I can't cook." Hanae listened intently, her gaze focused on him, while Hisashi grinned, looking ahead with anticipation.

After a few moments of silence, Hisashi, Subaru, and Hanae gathered around the table. They bowed their heads in prayer, and Hisashi took the first bite. Subaru and Hanae watched him intently.

With a smile, Hisashi declared, "It's delicious." Hanae's smile mirrored his, but Subaru interjected with a teasing tone, "Are you sure it's not poisoned?" Hanae shot him an angry glare.

Hisashi chuckled, taking another bite. "I'm positive. It's wonderfully prepared," he affirmed. With Hisashi's reassurance, Subaru also began to eat,

As they enjoyed their meal, Hanae broached the topic, "So, you both will attend the university, right?"

Subaru nodded eagerly, "Absolutely."

But Hisashi interjected with a smile, "Nope, Not me."

Their attention shifted to Hisashi, puzzled expressions on their faces.

"Why not?" Hanae inquired.

With a confident grin, Hisashi replied, "It's not the end for me, Ryugari-Sha might have turned me down, but there are plenty of other dojos where I can get admission." Both Hanae and Subaru watched Hisashi intently, who seemed determined.
