CHAPTER 27

He closed the book and left his room. When he arrived downstairs he saw the headlights and knew that Ruby had arrived home. She parked her car in the front and she got out. He helped her with her bags before the butler drove the car to the garage.

“I thought you weren’t coming,” he said as they took the staircase upstairs.

“I told you I will come,” she said back.

“I can see that.”

“Where is mother and father?” she asked him.

“They went out about an hour ago. Something came up but they will be back tonight,” Harvey answered.

“Okay then.”

Harvey took Ruby to her room where he entered ad closed the door. He could tell that she was tired so he went to the bathroom where he filled the tub with warm water before going back to the bedroom where Ruby had thrown herself on the bed.

He knelt down on the floor and began to remove the heels she was wearing. She sat up and looked at her.
