Mutual Feeling

Lucia let the maid direct them to their suites. The Queen had put them adjacent to each other. She thought it would make them more comfortable. She was right. Lucia would have been much less comfortable if she had been far away from her sister.

"Miss Lucia Handhoff," the maid said as she stopped in front of a set of doors.

Lucia perked up, "Yes?"

"This is your suite," she opened the doors and stood aside.

"Thank you," Lucia said as she got into the room.

She turned to see the maid and her sister looking at her.

"If you need anything please use the telephone," the maid said her face stern, "Call one, nine, seven."

"I will do that, Lucia responded with a soft polite smile, "Thank you."

She was glad she managed to keep the yawn back.

Why did the slightest hint of travelling sap the energy out of her?
