Tempted To Get Indecent

It took everything in Caroline to stand still as the gifts came into the room. Many countries had sent gifts to the palace for each member of the Handhoff family. Their mother had given them catalogues of their gifts and promised to send them to their apartments later. Now was later. As soon as the last box was set down and the last servant was gone, she was on the floor gently ripping packets open.

Alexander, her husband, was watching with a little smile on his face. He knew only the fear of breaking something poorly packaged was making her careful. She had dropped a glass statue when she had been going through their wedding gifts, and it had been sheer luck it was not broken, considering how much Caroline had loved it.

Caroline stopped at a box, read the tag, and frowned. She looked up at Alexander, who was looking at her expectantly.

"I didn't expect you to get me anything," she told him honestly.
