"Alright, alright. Get them ready in the next five minutes. I'll be there."

The man scanned the room one last time before exiting back to the lobby where the officers waited. Leading the way, a smile frequently danced across his face.

Back at the stairway, Seung climbed back up. He stopped, leaning heavily against the wall. His fingers traced his jawline as his eyes narrowed.

"Human consumption? What kind of crime could involve that?" His mind raced, conjuring images of dark alleyways, shadowy figures, and grim whispers, but he shook his head.

Just at a moment, his back instantly shifted from the wall and shoulders tensed. "The only thing that consumes humans is a monster," he muttered, a chill running down his spine. His brows furrowed, and his lips parted in disbelief. Images of gruesome, inhuman creatures flashed in his mind. The thought clung to him like a dark shadow: the commissioner of police might be involved in the murders.
