CTT News is one of the most renowned media houses in the country. Established almost a decade ago by Nicholas Garcia and his wife Quinn Wood, this media house has made a significant mark in the industry. Nicholas, now 37 years old, and Quinn, 35, both studied journalism at the same university where they were not only classmates but also boyfriend and girlfriend. Their shared passion for journalism led them to start CTT News from scratch right after graduation.
Despite the fierce competition in the media industry, Nicholas and Quinn's relentless hard work and dedication have elevated CTT News to a respectable position. Their main branch is located in Willowmere City, a bustling hub of activity and information.
Nicholas Garcia's Office
In the office room of Nicholas Garcia at CTT News, both husband and wife were present, engaged in a lively conversation. Nicholas, with his neatly trimmed beard and tailored suit, exuded a calm confidence. His wife, Quinn, with her sharp eyes and poised demeanor, sat across from him. Their office was a blend of modern aesthetics and personal touches—family photos on the shelves, awards on the walls, and a large, sleek desk in the center. The room, filled with accolades and framed front pages of significant stories they had covered, radiated the success they had built together. At that moment, a knock on the door interrupted their discussion.
Quinn, with her poised demeanor and piercing blue eyes, called out, "Come in."
The door opened immediately, and a man stepped inside. He is Banning, an energetic and diligent employee of the office. With a respectful nod, he greeted the couple. Nicholas looked towards Banning and asked, "What's wrong, Banning? Do you need something?"
Banning's face lit up with a look of triumph. "Sir, for the exclusive interview that Madam requested with Zane McAllister, I contacted his secretary yesterday night. She said that she will replay later. "
Quinn asked, "So, what's there to be happy about?"
Banning replied, "An official replay came this morning. Mr. McAllister has agreed to give an exclusive interview with us tomorrow at 7 PM."
The news brought instant joy to both Nicholas and Quinn. Nicholas, unable to contain his excitement, exclaimed, "Good, good, good! You did a very good job." His repetitive affirmation highlighted just how pleased he was with this achievement.
Zane McAllister is the CEO of BM Pharmaceutical, a company that has recently been in the spotlight, especially following yesterday's clash between workers and police, making it a hot topic. Securing an interview with him at this critical time would significantly boost their TRP (Television Rating Points). Usually, getting an interview with someone as high-profile as Zane McAllister is extremely challenging, particularly when all media companies are vying for the same. Despite the slim chances, Nicholas had asked his wife to appoint someone to reach out to Zane McAllister for an interview. His wife, understanding the importance but also the difficulty, tasked Banning with this job who is a good talker. Little did they know, Banning would succeed against the odds.
The couple exchanged proud and pleased glances, acknowledging the importance of this breakthrough for their network. This interview could potentially elevate CTT News to new heights, attracting even more viewers and solidifying their reputation as a leading news source.
In the midst of their triumph, Quinn turned to Nicholas, her eyes sparkling. "This is a huge win for us, Nick. We need to prepare thoroughly for this interview. Every question, every angle has to be perfect."
Nicholas nodded, already thinking about the preparations. "Absolutely, Quinn. Let's get our best team on this. We need to make sure this interview is flawless." He then looked at Banning and said again," Banning, thank you very much. You can go now and don't worry. I will make sure you get a handsome reward for your good work." Banning thanked Nicholas and left the room.
As Banning left the room, the couple began to strategize, their minds racing with possibilities. This was their moment to shine, and they were determined to make the most of it.
10:47 AM
Henry sat in the backseat of a taxi, the cityscape flashing by in a blur. His class had started at 10 AM, but he had spent the morning making arrangements for an important meeting later in the day. Now, he was already running late.
About ten minutes later, the taxi pulled up in front of the imposing edifice of his department building. He thanked the driver, handed over the fare, and stepped out, feeling the rush of warm air against his face. As he reached into his pocket for his phone, he checked the time: 10:57 AM. An hour late. He sighed, slipping the phone back into his pocket, and walked briskly towards the entrance.
Inside, he headed straight for the elevator and pressed the button, waiting impatiently as the floors ticked down. When the elevator finally stopped at the second floor, he stepped out and walked down the corridor to his classroom. The door was closed. Henry knew that Dr. Thompson, their stern and punctual professor, had a habit of locking the door once his lecture started to avoid disruptions.
Henry knocked a few times, causing Dr. Thompson to pause mid-sentence. The professor's expression turned to one of annoyance; he valued uninterrupted teaching time. He looked towards a student sitting near the door and motioned for him to open it.
The student, a diligent young man named David, got up from his seat and unlocked the door. As the door swung open, Dr. Thompson peered over his glasses, his sharp eyes narrowing as he saw Henry standing there. Some students turned to see who had disrupted the class, while others took the opportunity to whisper among themselves.
When the door opened, Dr. Thompson was surprised to see that it was Henry who had knocked. Henry, immediately sensing the professor's surprise, quickly apologized, "I'm sorry for being late and disturbing you in the middle of class, sir."
Dr. Thompson, still maintaining his stern demeanor, simply replied, "No need to explain. Come inside and take your seat. You are already late, so let's not waste more time. Just make sure you are not late again."
Henry nodded, feeling a mix of relief and gratitude. "Thank you, sir," he said before entering the classroom. As Henry walked to his seat, the student who had opened the door closed and locked it again, then quietly returned to his place.
