Watching Venom's satisfied expression, Maverick smiled and said, "Remember this feeling well. Opportunities like this probably won't come again in the future."
Venom nodded at the words, feeling regretful, but also knowing how rare it was to directly take out dozens of people like they did today.
"This mansion is basically empty now. It seems that Jon Hammond's management methods are quite strict. Just now, not a single person managed to escape; they all rushed here as soon as they sensed something was wrong," Maverick remarked, sensing the situation in the villa while talking to Venom.
"But this also saved us a lot of trouble. Alright, everyone has been dealt with, let's go," Maverick said as he walked towards the window. However, upon seeing the high-quality liquor displayed in the nearby liquor cabinet, his figure paused for a moment, then headed straight there.
"What's up? You want to have a drink afterwards? That's too fancy," Venom quipped as he watched Maverick's actions.
Maverick tapped Venom's head at the remark, then explained, "What do you mean, having a drink? I'm thinking since we've taken care of everything here, why not set fire to make it disappear more thoroughly?"
As he spoke, he manipulated numerous tentacles to open all the bottles of high-quality liquor in the cabinet and pour them onto the floor.
Maverick didn't drink alcohol; these perhaps very valuable liquors were meaningless to him. Being the accelerant for this fire might be the most useful purpose they could serve.
After pouring the liquor, Maverick rummaged through the pockets of the bodies on the ground and found several lighters.
*Click! Hiss!*
He opened and ignited several lighters, then casually tossed them onto the ground.
Flames instantly spread along the alcohol soaked into the carpet, then climbed up the walls, curtains, desks, bookshelves, and everything else flammable.
"Let's go, let's go. If we don't leave soon, the fire will burn us too," as the fire spread, Venom gradually felt uncomfortable, urging Maverick to leave quickly.
Upon hearing this, Maverick walked to the window, then leaped out, leaving the villa behind.
Although his head was covered when those people first arrived, it was ineffective against Venom's perception. He remembered the way here very clearly.
He sprinted along the route in his mind and soon returned to his own home.
At this moment, he only felt a sense of relaxation. His revenge, drawn to a close with the spread of the fire, finally had a conclusion, and the burden on his heart could finally be lifted.
"Tomorrow, I'll bring some flowers to the old man and tell him the good news. Finally, finally got revenge."
Maverick lay on his bed, thinking as he slowly drifted into sleep.
Venom, sensing his finally relaxed state, kindly helped him close the curtains and cover himself with the blanket.
After resolving everything, Maverick's life finally returned to calm once again.
He never expected so much to happen, after reincarnating, he just wanted to cherish this new lease in life and live a simple but happy life along with his new family–the old man.
But the unexpected events and experiences during this period completely disrupted his previous plans. Whether it was the killings or the symbiote now on him, they all reminded him that he couldn't return to a normal life anymore.
At this moment, Maverick wouldn't know that there would always be various troubles in his life in the future.
With a few days left before school starts, he planned to take a trip around the states, to see what he still haven't seen and let Venom enjoy some of the exotic dishes that he managed to see on the TV and wanted to try.
Maverick and Venom went to a Turkish restaurant where they tried their pig brain dish which was fried–Venom liked it.
There was also another brain dish that was from a China Town in New York called brain flower–Venom liked it.
And there was also another that was from a Mexican restaurant called tacos de sesos which just means "brain tacos."
Venom had been looking forward to these dishes for a long time, and once it tasted the first brain dish, it couldn't stop itself.
Since then, a legend of a man eating 200 servings of brain dish began to spread widely.
Maverick, who was already on a plane back to New York, of course didn't know about this. He was still complaining about Venom's outrageous appetite, which almost emptied his wallet. If Maverick hadn't stopped it, Venom probably could have eaten another two hundred servings.
Speaking of wallets, Maverick wasn't actually short on money. Old York wasn't even lacking in funds from the beginning, so even when the pizza was terrible, he could still keep the shop running.
After changing the pizza shop's menu, business got better and better, and naturally, they earned more money.
Plus, neither he nor Old York were big spenders, so after these few years of accumulating wealth, they had large amounts of liquid assets lying in their accounts.
This time, Maverick didn't just sightsee; he also put his previous ideas into action, investing money in several promising enterprises that he saw potential in, just waiting for them to blossom.
Maverick wouldn't forget about those companies in Europe and America. Utilizing the information in his head, he seized significant future prospects with a small amount of capital.
In addition to investing, he also wanted to establish his own conglomerate. He had already thought of a name: Zero Industrial. As for why he chose this name, there wasn't any special reason; he simply liked the number zero.
His goal, of course, was something like the renowned Stark Industries, but he knew he was still very far from that goal.
For a researcher, there's nothing more tempting than putting their ideas into action and producing results.
One advantage Maverick had over most researchers was his sufficient funds, and he could continue to earn a lot of money to support his research. So, he didn't need to work for places like Stark Industries or Osborn Industries and apply for project approval funds.
He could do whatever he wanted with his money. He would use whatever funds he had to support research and results that the funds could currently sustain, and then continue when the results could bring in more funds.
Starting with the two sectors he was familiar with and could grasp—communications technology and biotechnology—Maverick acquired many small companies with potential but couldn't sustain operations. Then, he integrated them to establish two companies.
These two companies were responsible for the communications technology and biotechnology sectors, but they also belonged to Maverick's Zero Industrial Group.
It wasn't until the start of school that Maverick established the structure he envisioned. The specific output of results still needed to wait for the company's researchers and his own research.
He already had many good ideas in the works, which he believed would solidify Zero Industrial's position in these two fields once these products hit the market.
