Chapter 41: The Thieving Goblin

Felicia was also very nervous at this moment. She tightly grasped Maverick's arm. The sudden turn of events caught her off guard, and the surrounding screams and wails only heightened her fear.

Maverick knew she was scared, so he comforted her while leading her to a safer place. "It's okay. I saw some staff members have already called the police. The cops will be here soon."

As Maverick observed the reckless flying and sinister laughter of the strange figure in the venue, he contemplated a plan of action.

This peculiar character had caused so much harm and chaos upon arrival; Maverick couldn't just stand by and watch.

Unfortunately, Felicia was still clinging tightly to his arm, preventing him from acting alone.

'If only she could faint.' Maverick thought to himself as he glanced at Felicia, who was gripping his arm so tightly that her knuckles were turning white.

Unaware of Maverick's thoughts, Felicia silently prayed for the police to arrive soon.

After flying around the venue on his strange contraption and laughing wickedly, the strange figure landed on the ground. He then violently removed all the jewelry and accessories from the showcases and glass cabinets, stuffing them into his bag.

"Hehehe! Today's haul is quite bountiful! Adorable diamonds and jewelry, come into daddy's pockets fast! Hahaha!" The strange figure chuckled as he opened his bag wide and forcefully stuffed the items inside.

As he gleefully grabbed more loot, the agonized cries of a nearby man caught his attention.

Sweat covered the chubby-faced man as he trembled in fear. Upon seeing the strange figure approaching him, the man immediately shut his mouth, too terrified to utter a sound.

Observing the man's intense trembling out of fear, the strange figure continued to grab the jewelry while chuckling, "Hehehe! I know what you're thinking. You're wondering why Spider-Man or the police haven't shown up yet."

"Be patient. Spider-Man is busy putting out fires on the other side of the city, and it'll be at least fifteen minutes before the police arrive. Do you think I came here unprepared? Hahaha! The Green Goblin never conducts a robbery without being prepared!"

Just as he continued to chuckle and fill his pockets with jewelry, a white strand of web suddenly wrapped around his arm, halting his movements.

"Spider-Man! How could it be?!" Green Goblin was astonished to see the web wrapped around his arm. In his plan, Spider-Man was supposed to be far away from here.

Before he could react, a tremendous force from the web pulled him away, and the bag of jewelry he was holding was also snatched away by another strand of web.

*Bang!* He was flung against the exhibition hall's wall, causing several cracks to appear.

Staggering to his feet from the impact, he quickly looked toward the center of the venue.

As he got a clear view of his adversary, he realized that the person was not Spider-Man but a mysterious figure with a black hood, only revealing a pair of white eyes.

"I know it couldn't be Spider-Man! Who the hell are you?" The Green Goblin shook his dizzy head and questioned Maverick.

Taking advantage of the moment when the robber was flung against the wall, Maverick quickly moved several people who were trapped under the rubble to the edge of the venue.

In response to the Green Goblin's question, Maverick did not give an answer. He just calmly and hoarsely remarked, "Don't you like to laugh? Why aren't you laughing now?"

"Damn it!" Maverick's mockery infuriated the Goblin. He directly took out several small balls resembling pumpkins from his bag and threw them at Maverick.

Facing the incoming bombs, Maverick shot out several strands of web, wrapping them together before hurling them towards the shattered ceiling.

*Bang!*

With a loud explosion, the bombs detonated in the air, causing a shockwave that made the people in the venue feel another tremor.

Just as Maverick dealt with the bombs, a series of gunfire and bullets came raining down on him from behind.

It turned out that the Goblin took advantage of the opportunity to quickly get back onto his flying contraption and began shooting at Maverick with the gun mounted on the front.

"More bullets!" Venom exclaimed angrily in Maverick's consciousness. Maverick swiftly maneuvered and shot two strands of web at the airborne Green Goblin, sticking them to the bottom of his flying contraption.

After securing the contraption with his web, Maverick began to swing it around like a yo-yo. His strength was enough to treat the aircraft and the Goblin as if they were spinning on a string.

This maneuver left the Green Goblin, who was standing on the contraption, feeling dizzy and disoriented.

With his left hand pulling the web and his right hand forming a gun shape, Maverick quickly aimed at the Green Goblin's head and fired off shots.

*Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!*

Several bullets undoubtedly hit the Green Goblin's forehead. For Maverick at this moment, a rapidly moving target posed no difficulty.

However, although several bullets hit Green Goblin's forehead, they didn't harm him. They only caused a slight indentation on the forehead of his mask. It seemed that this strange mask was also made of bulletproof material.

Maverick observed the airborne Green Goblin and analyzed, 'If I had known, I wouldn't have dodged the bullets earlier. I would have let a few more hit me. Probably a few more bullets would have pierced through his mask.'

Venom grumbled indignantly, 'No need for bullets. If you grab him, I can stab him to death with one claw.'

'But it's not easy to grab him, especially when he's on that aircraft,' Maverick retorted, raising his head.

While Maverick felt somewhat regretful, cold sweat broke out on the Green Goblin forehead. He had just genuinely felt the threat of death.

Where did this new face come from? His attacks were so ruthless. Although Spider-Man also used webs, it was nothing like what was happening today. Spider-Man's actions weren't as vicious.

Moreover, this new face seemed to possess some special ability. Bullets couldn't hurt him, and he could even absorb the bullets that hit him and then shoot them back out. This was the real deal, a true nightmare.

The Green Goblin felt a shiver down his spine. If it weren't for the bulletproof mask, he might have died here today. No, he had to run away quickly. Although the jewels and diamonds were precious, his own life was more important.

With this thought in mind, the Green Goblin no longer coveted the jewels and diamonds. He made two slender, icy blades pop out from the edge of his flying contraption. Then, he abruptly descended in altitude, causing Maverick's grip to loosen. Next, he spun around and used the blades to cut through the two strands of web that bound the flying contraption.

"Hehehe! No one can catch the Green Goblin! Bye-bye! Hahaha!" After breaking free, he hastily flew towards the gaping hole in the ceiling.

Seeing the Green Goblin attempting to escape, numerous agile tentacles suddenly extended from behind Maverick. They reached into the air, waving, trying to intercept or knock down him.

Upon seeing this, the Green Goblin quickly maneuvered the flying contraption left and right to evade the tentacle attacks. He hadn't expected this strange person to have such a trick up his sleeve.
