Chapter 50: Sudden Attack

The middle-aged African-American man was named Robbie, Jameson's trusted subordinate and also his good friend. Robbie had a very amiable appearance. Upon hearing Jameson's question, he gently chuckled and said, "Peter is a responsible kid. He's probably already here, maybe taking photos."

As Robbie spoke, a young brown-haired man holding a camera was indeed taking continuous shots at the stage. He wore the Daily Bugle's press pass around his neck, precisely the Peter Parker that Jameson was grumbling about.

Robbie, seeing this, immediately said to Jameson, "See, I told you."

Jameson, watching Peter focused on his work, snorted and then said with a stern face, "He's lucky because if I don't see him again this month, I'll definitely deduct his salary."

Robbie just smiled at his words. He knew very well what kind of person his boss was. Although Jameson always had a stern face and seemed to dislike Peter, he actually appreciated Peter's photography skills a lot.

Even if Peter was occasionally late and even came up with some lame excuses, Jameson would only scold him a bit and never really fire him or deduct his pay.

Peter, who was concentrating on taking photos, also heard Jameson's words. He could only shrug in response. After all, apart from his slightly sarcastic mouth, Jameson was actually pretty decent to him.

Of course, this was referring to Peter Parker, not Spider-Man, because Jameson could be considered Spider-Man's number one basher. His favorite thing to do was to find all sorts of evidence to prove that Spider-Man was a criminal.

While Peter was taking photos, the person on the stage had changed from Norman Osborn to Wilson Fisk. This man, holding a golden shovel symbolizing the groundbreaking ceremony, was smiling and introducing his expectations for the building and his hopes for the students of Empire University.

According to him, he hoped to use the wealth he contributed to promote the better development of Empire State University. The newly established Criminology Building would provide students with a better learning environment, enabling them to grow better and thus promote the stability and harmony of the city.

'His eloquence sounds pretty good. Although it's a bit rude to think like this, compared to Mr. Osborn's speech just now, Mr. Fisk's speech is obviously more convincing,' Peter thought to himself as he took photos from various angles.

"I envy their wealth. When can I also establish a company, just like Oscorp? I even have the name figured out, I'll call it Parker Industries."

Just as Peter was lost in thought, suddenly his Spider-Sense began to wildly alert him.

He saw a pumpkin bomb had already been thrown onto the platform, landing at Wilson Fisk's feet.

Because of his photography, Peter was not far from the platform. Seeing the bomb fall, he immediately jumped onto the relatively low platform and pushed Wilson Fisk's massive body away.

Just as he and Wilson Fisk ran away, the bomb exploded with a loud bang, directly causing the platform where the microphone was placed to collapse.

Everyone at the scene was startled by this sudden turn of events. They screamed and scattered away from the platform that had just been the center of the explosion.

"Hehehe! Lucky guy! Managed to dodge it!" A strange figure flying on a bizarre aircraft in the distance was circling towards the platform. His outfit and sinister smile clearly revealed his identity — he was the villain who planned to rob the jewelry exhibition last time.

Seeing that his bomb attack failed to work, the villain wielded two laser guns and began shooting at Wilson Fisk. Just as he aimed and was about to shoot, two strands of web suddenly appeared, sticking to his guns and snatching them away.

"Damn it, it's those annoying webs again. Who is it this time?" The villain cursed in frustration. None of his recent actions had been successful.

"Sorry, but it seems like it's not the right time for you to participate in Halloween." Peter, who had already changed into his costume in a concealed location, mocked the villain from the side of the wall.

"You damn wall-crawler," Green Goblin cursed at Spider-Man, then introduced himself, "I'm the Green Goblin. Since you're here, it's perfect to deal with you together."

With that, he began attacking Spider-Man, who leaped off the wall and engaged in combat with the Goblin while shooting webs.

As they fought each other, Wilson Fisk had already returned to his modified armored vehicle. As a prominent figure, he was no stranger to such scenes, so he had prepared well in advance.

The smile on Wilson Fisk's face had disappeared, replaced by a cold expression as he looked at the two fighting outside the vehicle. He then coldly ordered his subordinates, "Go find out who this lunatic is for me."

The open space was very suitable for the Goblin to use his equipment. With his agile flight, he kept Peter on his toes.

In addition to his experience dealing with Spider-Man's webs during the last jewelry exhibition, now every time Spider-Man's webs touched the Goblin's aircraft, they were immediately severed.

Being in such a disadvantageous position made Peter extremely frustrated. The guy in front of him, called the Goblin, was just too slippery; he couldn't get a grip on him at all.

With excellent judgment and agility, Spider-Man finally found an opportunity to grab onto the his aircraft. The Goblin didn't mind this; he just chuckled and brought him to a height even higher than the building.

"Oh, why did I follow him flying so high? This is making me dizzy." Peter felt that his decision just now was a bit rash.

"Hehehe! How's it feel to fly? Pretty nice, huh?" The Goblin chuckled, deliberately swaying and circling in the air, while taunting, "Hehehe! You'll have a chance to comment after you survive this flight!"

After saying that, the Goblin swiftly changed direction, flinging Peter away.

As he watched the building's rooftop getting closer and closer, Peter knew it wouldn't be pleasant if he fell down like this.

He reached out towards the other side of the building, intending to shoot a web, but unfortunately, he had just run out of web fluid.

"Oh! Damn it, I forgot to refill it yesterday, and I've used up too much just now." This sudden turn of events made him tense up. Looking at the building in front of him, Peter had to think of another way.

'No web, so I need to slow down gradually. I'll grab onto the side of the building first, then descend slowly.' Peter quickly came up with a new plan.

At this moment, he was about to collide with the building. He adjusted his posture in the air, changing his landing point from the rooftop to the side of the building.

*Bang! Hiss!* Peter first collided with the glass on the side of the building, then, due to the momentum of his fall, he struggled to cling to the side of the building, making the glass squeak and grind unpleasantly.
