Madeline Rose had only ever worked in her father's local blacksmith shop and occasionally helped her mother at the farm. Her skin had become tanned from the hot sun, but despite all of this, she did not complain. Even though she didn't come from a wealthy home, she was content. 



However, her life turned upside down when she stumbled upon a darkness that refused to leave her alone. 




There was him, a man cloaked in mystery and malice, a presence that sent chills down her spine. His eyes, shrouded in shadows, held a depth of darkness that seemed to swallow the light around him. 





When their paths crossed, Madeline felt a cold dread wash over her, as if she had invited a malevolent force into her world.

The Devil's Embrace

It is the one thing we all have in common. The truth is, some people are very good at hiding it, which is why I think not all individuals have fear within them. But that's not the truth, for fear runs deep inside our bones.

Throughout Madeline's life, she had always been the strong girl. Being the first child of her parents, she was forced by reality to work harder, to be stronger, especially since her brother was just ten years old.

Fear. She had felt it but had never acted so much on it. But not right now. Anyone who was in her shoes, even if it is the king or the governor, would feel this fear crawling on their skin.

This was a creature one would see in their dreams, never in reality. So you can imagine what it is like to come face to face with this creature.

"God, please," she whispered as she ran for her dear life. Her heart was thudding against her ear, every fiber of her being shaking in fear. But she kept running without looking back.
