A long sigh escaped Draven's lips as he felt her soft breath near his ears. It had been a while before Madeline finally drifted to sleep. Every breath she took, her skin touching him, her mere presence was enough to make him lose control.

His eyes flew open, greeted by the glow of the lamb painted on the ceiling above. He then looked at her; her eyes were shut, her lips - the same ones he had almost kissed in the dining room - were slightly parted, as if inviting him, drawing him towards her again.

What a marvelous sight to behold. However, he mustn't lose himself in this moment.

Draven quickly looked away. Yes, she was his wife, but it was all a facade. She was here for a purpose, and once that was fulfilled, he would have to let her go.
