His Study

"Very well," Eloide bowed, but kept her eyes on the undergarment. "I might be in trouble if you go out like this."

Madeline rolled her eyes, went back into the room, and retrieved the gold robe she had worn against the cold the night before.

She returned, stepping out of the room, ignoring the look on Eloide's face. "You need a proper dress, my queen. Let me get you a dress to put on," her hand fidgeted at her side as she spoke.

"It is fine. Take me to him," she tried to sound calm, even though her mind was growing furious. She had completely forgotten what had happened between them last night in the dining room. She was no longer embarrassed to face him; after all, he was now her husband, and those things were meant to happen anyway. For now, she needed to make some things clear to the king. Some rules needed to be changed. She wondered, though, if it was the same for him. Did he bathe himself, or was he also helped out of his clothes?
