67 I Survive

Emilia’s POV

My heart raced wildly in my chest, muscles tensing with a tingling sensation as I watched Brigitte being pinned down by several slaves. There was a surreal sense of disorientation as I tried to process what had just happened—everything unfolded too quickly.

Biting my lip, I used the pain to sharpen my focus. In that split second, when the wolf's teeth were about to sink into me, I rolled away to evade, only to be forcefully restrained by Brigitte and sent crashing to the ground.

Sand stung my face, and I could only watch as Brigitte's arm, glinting with cold steel, descended upon me. Time seemed to slow as I stared wide-eyed, almost numbly waiting for whatever fate awaited me.

But in that moment, the moon goddess showed me mercy. I didn't know why the dagger didn't plunge into my neck, ending my life, but I clearly saw the surprise on Brigitte's face and her frozen motion.
