69 He Saves Me Again

Emilia’s POV

As the roar of the tiger echoed through the arena, I sensed the hidden threat beneath its massive fangs.

My body, already dulled by intense pressure, was enveloped in icy despair.

This was a true beast, with no magic.

"Open the door!" Klaus's voice, even amidst the clamor of the nobles below, rang out clear and forceful. I had never heard Klaus so agitated.

But only the king's command could open the door. Yet the king, aloof and detached, merely watched as events unfolded, giving no order to halt the proceedings. The surrounding nobles, surprised for a moment, resumed their idle chatter, and I lifted my gaze to meet Ron's eyes, understanding that Ron was determined to put an end to me this time.

My hand trembled around the dagger. A wave of sorrow washed over me. Am I going to die today?

The arena, sealed off by slabs of stone and iron bars, left me isolated behind the barrier. I kept a precarious distance from the beast tethered to the underground abyss.
