96 My Brothers

Johnson's POV

I have always opposed the idea of sending Cecilia to take Emilia to the Wolf's Den.

Unlike those who are entirely ignorant of the place, I know a thing or two about it. It’s not a place fit for the esteemed Princess to venture into; the surroundings of the Wolf's Den are harsh and dangerous. Perhaps Cecilia wanted to show the King her dedication, I thought. She is just a child yearning for her father’s attention.

However, much like my role in the palace, my advice is often treated as mere decoration.

Knowing this well, I held no hope of changing the situation as I went to see the King.

“Johnson, you’re here.”

In the dimly lit room, the King lay on his luxurious, spacious bed, opening his tired eyes to look at me.

“Yes, Your Majesty. I came to pay my respects. How are you feeling lately?”

I quickly bowed my head, greeting him respectfully.
