110 After the First Night

Cecilia’s POV

The dry, cold wind swirled around me, dusting my face with small flakes of snow. As the snow melted into droplets, they dampened my brows and eyelashes. It was irritating. I wanted to wipe it away, but the moment I tried to move, pain surged through my body. My waist and abdomen felt numb, held firmly by a pair of strong arms.

"Let me go..." I murmured with my eyes closed.

But instead of loosening, the grip around me tightened even more.

The cold at my brow was quickly replaced by a soft, warm breath. His exhale brushed against my face, and I could hear a faint chuckle near my ear.

"Good morning, my princess." His voice was low and deep, tinged with amusement.

I opened my eyes and found myself gazing into his amber eyes. His eyes, glimmering like a lake touched by sunlight, were so captivating I almost wanted to kiss him.

Ulysses wasn’t wearing his glasses. His lips grazed my brow, chasing away the coldness, before descending to meet mine.
