116 You Belong to Me

Cecilia’s POV

I was just about to say something when the girl came out of the kitchen, holding a new teacup and a fragrant teapot.

“Brother, today is such a wonderful day. It’s been so long since we’ve had a new guest,” she said, handing me the cup.

“Yes, I didn’t expect anyone besides me to make it here,” Ulysses replied, wrapping his arm around the girl, pulling her close to sit beside him. It seemed like he couldn’t bear to have her even a little bit away from him.

The sight in front of me made my chest ache, like venom from a snake was still coursing through my veins, making my limbs tremble with pain.

I picked up the cup in my hands, the steam brushing against my cheeks, and I saw my tired, blue eyes reflected in the surface of the tea.

Seeing Ulysses act like this was enough to stop my mind from functioning. I took a deep breath, ordering myself not to look at him as he cozied up to the girl.
