The candidate for the new professor

After distributing the review papers to students below the third grade in Tewell, the castle became immersed in an atmosphere of review.

Teachers of other subjects also experienced in devising review plans for students.

Except for Tewell, the professors no longer taught students new content.

Of course, this didn't mean Tewell relaxed the students' review work.

In fact, he had observed signs of emotional breakdown in many students, and some even did various bizarre things.

Especially in the fifth and seventh grades, students' mental states were somewhat abnormal in preparation for exams.

According to Percy, he had investigated several incidents of selling substandard potions, talismans, and cheating props.

Despite the professors' repeated reminders, there were still students occasionally sent to the school infirmary for taking potions with strong side effects or those with limited efficacy.

Therefore, Tewell did not put too much pressure on them and used an enjoyable approach to lighten the students' burden.

At least, he made them a bit happier when doing the papers.

Thinking about this, he really was a good teacher!

"Headmaster, I want a raise!" Tewell pushed open the door to the headmaster's office and skillfully sat down in front of Dumbledore.

Dumbledore smiled helplessly, poured a cup of tea without saying a word, leaving Tewell to pour his own pumpkin juice!

He was starting to regret conducting weekly sessions of transfiguration research and discussions on the magical world with Tewell.

Transfiguration research was manageable, even though they had delved into unimaginable magical and soul transformations, but Tewell's performance had always been good.

Even in soul research, he only scratched the surface and remained on track, much better than his teachers.

However, discussions about the magical world were giving him a headache.

As the current top figure in the magical world, Dumbledore maintained contact with many great wizards internationally, despite spending most of his time at Hogwarts.

He was well aware of the latest research in magic.

Although he didn't agree with Tewell's implicit suggestion that the magical world was backward, he realized that wizards were adapting to Muggle technology.

So, after each discussion with Tewell, he had to spend a lot of time pondering the current situation of the magical world.

It was almost more difficult than educating the kid's ideology!

"You've already taken half of next year's budget for the school. If I give you a raise, will the school still be able to find new professors?!"

Watching Tewell unabashedly pour himself a large glass of pumpkin juice, Dumbledore tapped the table impatiently.

Tewell didn't mind.

Over the past few months, they had too many disputes in their discussions, and Dumbledore had been angrier than this situation.

He took a sip of pumpkin juice before slowly saying,

"There's a big move in Dark Arts Defense for next year. The budget isn't for my own pocket anyway; it's all for the students—"

"Wait," he exclaimed, setting down his cup in surprise. "Have you found a new professor?!"

Taking charge of seven grades for the first time, to be honest, he had been in a state of constant hustle and bustle, barely having time to think about his own affairs.

No wonder there hadn't been much progress among the professors in the school. They were too busy to even think about magic!

However, Tewell suddenly thought of the professor in the plot.

In his reminiscence, Dumbledore pushed a newspaper towards him, and on the cover was the man from his memory—

Gilderoy Lockhart!

Lockhart was dressed in magnificent clothes, with a delicate cloak draped over his shoulders, flashing a smile revealing eight shining teeth.

From the photo, he looked more like a model for toothpaste ads than a powerful wizard...

At least he was much more dazzling than the shampoo he held in his hand...

"Although I don't like to belittle others," Tewell said with an indescribable expression, pointing at the photo with his finger, "but this man, his face looks stronger than his magic, much stronger."

He emphasized one last time.

Dumbledore helplessly took out a book— "Me and Magic".

"You can take a look at some of his works. What's written here is still great. As long as he can demonstrate a third of it, the students will have a decent professor."

Facing this book, Tewell had absolutely no interest in even touching it.

"What if he can't demonstrate a third of it?"

"That's still better than Quirrell, isn't it?" Dumbledore sighed. "And Lockhart has won quite a few awards and even has a Merlin Order of Merlin, a high level of international recognition."

"Not many people are willing to come and teach Dark Arts Defense. Who knows, maybe he's just a highly skilled wizard who likes to show off?"

"I can assure you, if you also plastered your photos everywhere like him, the effect would be much better."

Tewell tried to imagine Lockhart's face replaced with his own...

He couldn't help but shiver.

But thinking back to Quirrell, who stuttered when he spoke, it seemed that even if Lockhart lectured students using his book's techniques, it would still be better than Quirrell.

At least, he could delegate some theoretical content to him, which would help lighten his teaching load.

So, Lockhart couldn't possibly mess even that up, right?

"Oh, by the way, Lockhart's interview will be at the beginning of summer vacation. Will you be there?" Dumbledore placed the book in front of Tewell. "If you're coming, you can take a look at his works."

Since Dumbledore had done this, Tewell had to reluctantly pick up the book, but he wasn't sure if he'd be interested in interviewing a fraud at that time.

"Let's talk about it later. There's still some time before summer vacation."

"Speaking of summer vacation, do you have any plans?" Dumbledore casually asked.

Seeing the old man feigning nonchalance, Tewell's lips curled slightly.

"I'll see how it goes. First, I'll research magic at school, and then maybe visit some relatives or something. Do you want to come along?"

This time, Dumbledore didn't show the slightest embarrassment as he calmly locked eyes with him.

"I've already asked a friend to visit Grindelwald in Nurmengard. It's said that his living conditions are very poor. Since you're his student, I don't mind if you offer him some help in his daily life."

"But," Dumbledore leaned forward, his gaze calm as he stared at Tewell, "he cannot leave Nurmengard. That's my bottom line!"

Headmaster, you can't identify a teacher's magic without going there yourself.

Tewell thought smugly, but he didn't show it on his face.

"Don't worry, the teacher is doing fine there now, reminiscing about the past."

"I never said it had to be in Nurmengard," he thought to himself.

Dumbledore changed the subject, unwilling to dwell on the topic of Grindelwald.

"Let's continue talking about Muggles. I didn't know you were so well-versed in Muggle studies."
