Chapter 24: Blame

"You know the consequences of intruding on my decision?" Matriarch Cassandra's voice was cold and unwavering as she walked toward the high-ranked senior member. Her face was a mask of clear rage, eyes blazing with intensity. Each step she took echoed through the hall, amplifying the tension in the room.

The senior member, usually unflappable, could feel a chill run down his spine as she approached. He knew the Matriarch's wrath was not to be taken lightly. Cassandra stopped just inches from him, her presence dominating the space, and he pulled himself for the inevitable fallout of his actions.

"Your Highness," he said with his timid voice, "I don't dare to."
