My heart instantly flew into my throat and I was so caught off guard that I stumbled and squealed, which madeq a lot more noise than I'd have liked. The guard's eyes narrowed at me as he solely stepped closer to me and I swallowed emptily, already knowing that I was doomed at this point. This was exactly what I've been trying to avoid, what I've been constantly praying against, and that same thing was right in front of me right now and I was too frozen in fear and shock to say a thing as the guard stopped beside me.
His head was cocked sideways as he regarded me, his gun still pointed at me. I remained in the same spot, unable to breathe because of how nervous I felt right now. It felt like one wrong move or word would result in my head instantly getting blown off by this large looking gun.
