Third person POV
Later, after that public humiliation event, as the three fraudsters were being led to the city jail, the same captain of the city guards thanked Russell and his party and group for helping him catch the three fraudsters and take down their scam enterprise. "Yes, you're welcome, sir," Russell positively replied back while readjusting his bus driver's cap. "We're happy to help."
Some from the crowd that threw rotten food at the three scumbags were also with the captain thanking Russell and his group for their help.
Russell and his party and group were a bit overwhelmed by their gratitude and compliments.
But, seeing them being complimented by the crowd from a distance, Elai and her remaining party became envious and jealous of their achievement.
Elai herself was really jealous of Russell's unintended charisma, wanting to get back at him somehow.
After all that positive compliments, Russell and his party and group went back to the old lady's house. There Kelly went to them with someone, who was a young man dressed in royal clothes. "Guys, someone is looking for Cassius." Cassius saw that man and recognized him as one of his messengers back at the royal palace in the capital. "Ah, Miles, you're here?"
"Yes, sir," Miles replied back, "I had been searching for you to give you this letter."
He then handed him a folded letter with a waxed seal on it.
Cassius received it and removed the seal, unfolding the piece of paper and reading its contents.
Russell and the others were curious at what that letter says.
The letter was a reply from the Passato family, which tells him to report back to the palace about his latest findings. After reading the whole thing, Cassius folded the letter and put it in his pocket, before looking at Miles. "Thank you, but I'll be with May-san for now."
"Huh? Why?" Miles was stunned to hear that.
Cassius then looked at Russell. "Well, because this young fellow needed someone to train him in lightning magic."
The royal spy then looked back at Miles. "I'll have Taryn go to the palace on my behalf."
"Okay, sure," Miles replied back, "but where's Alder-san?"
"He's with his family due to some…familial issues…" Taryn stepped in. "Don't worry, I got this."
She looked at Cassius. "I'll go to the palace with Miles."
Cassius then nodded in agreement.
"Um…Cassius-san," Russell responded to this, "are you sure about not going to the capital?"
Adrian remained silent at this.
"Yes, I'm sure," Cassius said to him, "I'll train you for a while."
Russell was positive, albeit having to accept that Cassius will stay in his group for the time being.
And so, after lunch time in the old lady's house, Taryn and Miles left the house and hopped on Taryn's horse, before leaving the city and going to the capital. Cassius, meanwhile, went out just to take Alder's horse to Alder's house. Russell and the rest are resting at the old lady's house. Russell shared his story of the road chase in the eastern city gate to Ria, Kelly, and the old lady.
The old lady was amazed and smiled in her old age's face. "You were wonderful, young man."
"Thanks, ma'am," Russell happily replied back.
"Wow, you're smart with that carriage of metal, aren't you?" Kelly asked. "To think about it, it didn't need a horse or a mule to move it, right?"
"Yes, I am," Russell responded back positively while hiding the secrets behind his bus's technological and mechanical mechanism.
Adrian felt even more inspired by Russell's bravery and smart-thinking, while Azalea fell for him more in secret.
John seemed to be proud of his master's recent good deed.
Rai and Ria also fell for Russell as well.
The rest of the day was spent on resting and going out into the city browsing various stuff and even watching craftsmen crafting their handmade products in their workshops. At this point, Russell thought, "Man, those people had a lot of experience of crafting their products by hand. I think their handmade products are better in quality than those which were mass-produced using machines."
By sundown, the entire group went back to the old lady's house to eat dinner with the old lady and to rest up for the night.
