Third person POV
Later on, the pack of Dark Wolves led him to a town near the coast. Nathan came out and saw it. The pack was looking at it while panting and wagging tails. The coastal town was called Marewell Town.
"Woah, look at that," Nathan commented while gazing at the town's beauty.
Marewell Town was a beautiful town, with nice buildings and a very scenic beachline that has white sands.
"You guys actually did it…" Nathan looked at them.
He then smiled at them. "Thank you, amigos. You may go now."
The pack obeyed him and went back to the forest.
With that, Nathan went into the town. Along the way, he was hungry so he dug into his pockets for any money to pay for it. Luckily for him, he managed to find his leather wallet from his previous life. But upon opening it, Nathan found out that it only contained coins of three kinds: gold, silver, and copper. There is no paper cash, which had been converted into those coins. Their exchange value was set randomly. At this point, he had 20 gold coins, 25 silver coins, and 56 copper coins.
Nathan was stunned that he had these kinds of money and that his cash was now gone. "Wow…"
But he accepted it, thinking, "Now I can buy food for myself."
So, he went into the town's coastal markets to buy food. Then, the young photographer found some open-fire-cooked salmon for 4 copper coins each. Thinking that it looks good to eat, Nathan went there and bought 1 for the said price.
After that, he sat down on a wooden bench overlooking a sea to eat it.
It was hot still and was pierced through a wooden stick.
When he took a bit of it, Nathan tasted it good and roast in flavor, with a hint of saltiness because the salmon fish was salted before being cooked on open fire.
"So good…" his mind was allured by its taste, reminding Nathan of his previous life, where he ate that type of fish with his parents in their coastal home in Barcelona, Spain.
Then, Nathan ate all of the fish and was stuffed with satisfaction.
After that, he bended the stick and threw it away, before standing up and looking at the sea in front of him. The sea is calm, and the weather was nice and sunny. There are a few wooden ships docked at a near port at his right. Those ships and their crews are doing their usual business of unloading and loading cargo and exchanging transactions and money with the port staff.
And so, Nathan thinks that the view is beautiful so he activated his Photography ability to take a picture of it.
Then, he zoomed the camera screen of the ability's hologram screen a bit more and…pressed the button to snap a quick picture.
After that, a paper, glossy photo of his recent take appeared in front of him.
Nathan then grabbed it and saw how good and high-quality it was. "Nice…"
Then, as Nathan tucked it into his pants pocket, someone had seen his ability and was saying to its mother about it. Nathan heard and looked at his left, only to see a child, a girl, pointing her little finger at him while looking at her mother.
"Mommy, this one is cool!" the girl said to her mother.
Her mother looked at Nathan, and Nathan looked at her back.
"What you were doing, young man?" the woman asked him.
"Oh, hello there, I took a picture of this," Nathan confidently replied while pulling out his recent photo and showing it at her and her daughter.
The mother and daughter looked at it and found it very cool.
"Wow…"
"Amazing…"
The girl wants to take it, but her mother won't allow that.
"You can't take that, sweetie," she said to her child, "that isn't ours."
"Oh, you want this, young one?" Nathan asked the child.
"Really?" the girl looked at him. "May I have it?"
"Um, sir, do we need to pay for it?" her mother asked the young man. "I mean, it's paid, right?"
Nathan thinks for a while, then he replied back, "Yes, 3 copper coins for this. Say, do you want me to take a picture of you and your child? That'll be 2 copper gold coins; 1 copper coin per person."
The woman was stunned at his offer of his new and novel service.
The child wanted a photo of her and mother, so she persuaded her mother to get one.
Eventually, the mother accepted it.
"Great!" Nathan smiled.
And so, the woman and her child posed in front of the sea view while facing at Nathan, who was taking a photo of them. Nathan did so, and a paper, glossy photo of his recent take appeared in front of him. He then grabbed it and saw how good and high-quality it was. "Perfect…"
"Was it good?" the woman asked him.
Nathan then looked at her. "Yes."
With that, the woman and her child went to him to take a good look of it, only to be stunned on how nice the photo was.
"How's this?" Nathan asked her.
"It was good, very nice," the woman replied back.
"Okay, so, do you want this? Or should I take another, better one?"
"No, it's okay. That one is really nice. Also, we'll take the other photo, too."
"Great! 5 copper coins for both of them, please."
The woman gets her small wallet and paid for both of the photos.
Nathan received the payment and gave the two photos to her and her child.
Those two are his first two clients.
After that, both the mother and child left the scene, leaving Nathan enjoying his first transaction of his services. Then, afternoon came, and Nathan checked into an inn near the beach to stay for the night. The next day, the town heard of Nathan's strange, picture-taking ability and service from the woman, who was the wife or a sailor. Nathan found out what the fuss was about by the town, only to be taken aback by their numerous questions and requests for his services. Some wanted him to take group photos with them So, he devised a table of prices depending on the purpose of those photos and how many of them in one photo. Nathan used the logic that says that the more people are in a photo, the higher the price for it.
And so, for the whole morning, he took pictures of them, and those clients of his paid him accordingly. Stories about him, including the rumor version of them, spread outside of town by travelers, merchants, adventurers, and explorers. And so, Nathan became well-known for his strange, rare, and novel services, and he managed to earn a small, decent living out of it.
But, the young photographer didn't forget his secondary ability and the pack of Dark Wolves who helped him. So, Nathan went to the forest to visit them from time to time giving them some food and training and honing his secondary ability more.
