Chapter 86 – Blades vs. Growls

Third person POV

 Because of this, the stealing group stopped the horse carriage, got off, and wielded their weapons, which consisted of swords and axes, before pointing them at Russell and Nathan, who had gotten off the bus. They were angry at them for blocking the way. Russell unsheathed his sword and flowed his lightning magic through it. "You guys stop this…"

The young bus driver and free adventurer said that with a serious tone, but without his Filipino accent.

But the stealing group smirked at him, not wanting to give in to him and Nathan.

 "You'll pay for this, puny kid."

 "Yeah, we'll kill both of you!"

 And so, with Nathan being unable to use any weapons, Russell lunged at them. The thieves and their clients fought back, overwhelming him a lot. The fight lasted for 2 minutes before Russell got exhausted. Those guys are very tough and are not that affected by the lightning magic that goes through Russell's sword, making the battle difficult. Sweat is now wetting Russell's attire as a bus driver as he is about to give in.

 "Ha! Weak kid," one of the thieves approached him and pointed the tip of his sword at him. "Give it up."

That one was a distance of 5 inches!

As Russell looked at the thief and panted for his breath, Nathan was panicking and wanted to help him out.

 But then, he has the idea of using his Wolf Control to intimidate the thieves into surrendering. So, Nathan did so, using his mind to call any nearby wolves in the area, asking them to come and help his friend out. And so, a pack of 7 wolves, all Blood ones, came to the rescue, siding with Russell and intimidating the thieves with their scary and loud growls and hostile looks on their faces. The thieves are now scared and afraid of them, backing off in fear while Nathan smiles in gaining an advantage against them. Russell snapped out and looked at the thieves' quick shift in their attitude, before looking at both sides. "What? Wolves? Wait a minute…"

He then looked at Nathan while holding his sword. "Nathan-san, did you do that?"

 "Yes, to help you, amigo," replied Nathan.

Then to the wolves. "Now, intimidate them to surrender their weapons and their stolen loot to us."

The pack of wolves did so, scaring the hell out of those thieves.

Surprisingly, it worked so well, and the thieves were even more scared, thinking that those wolves would eat them alive.

So, those bozos eventually surrendered their stolen loot and weapons to Russell and Nathan and begged them not to let the wolves eat them alive.

 "Good," Nathan replied back, before commanding the wolves to calm down because the thieves had surrendered to them.

The wolves did so, and Russell sheathed his sword and walked to Nathan. "Wow, thanks a lot."

 "You're welcome, amigo." Nathan smiled at him back.

Nathan got a lot of points and leveled up, too.

His level was now standing at Level 33.

And so, Russell and Nathan apprehended the thieves, confiscated their stuff, and escorted them in Russell's bus with the 10 Blood Wolves escorting the bus from the sides.

Nathan, however, rode the horse carriage behind the bus to return it to Kane.

 A bit later, a witness reported to the squad of town guards about a chase she had seen south of town. Russell's party and group are with them. "Are those 2 will be fine?" Rai asked while being worried for Russell and Nathan.

 "Don't worry," reassured Cassius with a calming tone, "Mr. May and Mr. Wolfstein will be fine."

But then, just as the witness was about to finish her report, Russell's bus came with the Blood Wolves escorting it.

 "We're back," Russell said to them through the microphone and speaker.

This caught their attention, and they looked at them and were shocked to see that the thieves had been captured.

The witness was also surprised to see that.

Nathan appeared on the other side of the street in Kane's stolen horse carriage.

 "What?" the captain of the squad was shocked to see that.

 "Those 2 youngsters did it?!" one of his guards added.

 "Yeah, we did it, guys," Nathan happily responded back.

Rai and Ria were amazed at their strength and intelligence of doing this mission.

Azalea was impressed and amazed while Adrian was dumbfounded.

 So, as the thieves and their clients were being arrested by the town guards and Nathan thanking the 10 Blood Wolves for their help and sending them away, the captain of the squad said thank you to Russell for helping him and his squad catch the thieves. Adrian and Kelly came forward and revealed to both of them that they had spotted the thieves conducting a transaction with their clients. The captain heard and got that, before thanking them for their help.

 "Oh, so that's how we saw those guys speeding down the street…" Russell thought.

Nathan was finished and approached Russell, only for the latter to reveal to him how Adrian and Kelly helped them catch the thieves.

Nathan was impressed, and both him and Russell gave Adrian and Kelly a quick thumbs-up.

After all that, Russell and Nathan received a lot of points again for their crime-fighting deed, much to their joy.

Adrian and those who took part in this fight for the recovery of Kane's horse carriage also received some, but less points, too.
