CHAPTER 8-CHASING FLEETING PLEASURE

7:00 a. m

I arrived at the office and was about to sit down when I see a yogurt at my desk that suddenly made me stop, I look around to see who put it there and as I wander around the place I saw Lexi at her table, staring at me she smiled and so I smile back to her...it was her it was really her. I look at the cup of the yogurt and realize that there's a sticky note paste on its lid and there was a word written "Je t'aime". A French language meaning "I love you". It did made me smile again.

I then just take my seat and continue on doing my proposal for the new product that I wish they would approve. It was almost halfway so maybe on the other day I can propose it to our CEO.

6:00 p. m

I did overtime today to finish my project proposal. I realize that someone was still there so I try to see who it was and realize it was Lexi. I go to Lexi's table.

"Hey are you busy?". I asked and immediately she look up at me.

"No, not actually. Why?". Tanong nito.

"Want to grab some drink?". I asked, sumama din naman ito ng walang imik at ilang minuto nga lang mula sa opisina ay naka rating na din kami sa pinaka malapit na bar.

6:30 p. m

Nakarating na kami ni Lexi sa bar at agad naman ay inasist kami ng waiter kung saan kami pwedeng maupo.

We order five bottles of bear and chug it.

8:00 p. m

"Be careful". Sambit ni Lexi ng muntik akong madulas sa hagdan palabas ng bar dahil sa kalasingan ko.

"I'm not drunk, I'm fine". Sambit ko habang naka hawak sa suot nitong polo.

Ng maka rating kami sa kung saan naka park ang sasakyan nito ay binuksan na din nito ang pintuan saka naman ako naupo.

Hindi ko alam kung anong pumasok sa utak ko pero ng maka pasok si Lexi sa sasakyan ay agad ko itong hinalikan at sa gulat nito ay natulak nya ako.

"I'm sorry". Sambit naman nito agad.

"What are you doing?". Biglang tanong din nito.

"Can you help me?". I asked.

"What? Why?". Mahahalata sa boses nito ang pag tataka.

"Help me forget Marcus, you help me right? Help me forget him". I said begging for her.

"What do you want me to do?". Tanong pa nito.

"Have sex with me". I said tila namuo ang pagka inis nito sa mukha pero nanatili itong mahinahon.

"You're just drunk Valeria get over it". Inis na sambit nito.

"I'm not drunk I told you". Sagot ko naman dito.

"Stop this nonsense Valeria, yes I love you and I respect you, so don't do this. I'll drive you home". Nag simula na nga ito sa pag mamaneho at halos napuno ng katahimikan ang sasakyan buong byahe. Ewan ko ba naman kung ano-ano ang pumasok sa utak ko, sana hindi nalang ako nag inom.

When we get back at my place she pull the car over and open the door for me, she even accompany me to get to my condo unit because she knows that I'm drunk. Once that we got to the doorstep of my condo she left.

8:00 a. m

Pilit na pumasok ako sa trabaho kahit masakit ang ulo ko sa hangover at wala pang kain dahil naiisuka ko din.

I sat on my table at napansin ko naman na nandun ang isang lunch box na may sticky note sa ibabaw and I just know it was from Lexi. The note says "Eat this soup and also drink responsibly next time". I look at her but she didn't even bat an eye on me.

She's mad isn't she?

After that I just continue on my job but can't seem to focus because of my hungry stomach, so I decided to take the lunch box with me and eat at the office cafeteria.

"You seem to be enjoying the food?". I lift my head and saw Marcus staring at me.

"You don't always bring food with you what with the lunch box?". He asked.

"Just because I want to". Sagot ko saka muling nagpa tuloy sa pag kain.

I then saw him pick up something from the cover of the lunch box that made me look at him again. Fool I forget to take the notes off of the lid.

"You two drink? Hey! Valeria!". Sigaw nito na dumagongdong sa apat na sulok ng cafeteria.

"You two drink? I told you she's a lesbian what if she caught feelings for you huh?!". Pa bulyaw na sabi nito.

"You!". He was about to slap me which made me close my eyes. Then suddenly I felt a strange energy blocking him, I opened my eyes and saw Lexi.

"Stop it". Malamig na sabi nito.

"Yeah, you're just a lesbian, what can you do for Valeria?". Dama ko ang galit sa bawat salita ni Marcus, halata din ang pagka inis nito sa mukha nya.

"Valeria, let's go". Winahi nito sa daan si Lexi saka ako kinaladkad papalayo dito.

I look at my back and saw the angry face of Lexi.

"You are really crazy aren't you". Galit na wika ni Marcus saka binitawan ang kamay ko na kanina pa hawak nito.

We were at the parking lot of the office, alam nya na dito walang makaka rinig samin, walang makakakita sa skandalo na ginagawa nya.

"Leave that girl alone or end this relationship? Choose Valeria!". Pa bulyaw na sambit nito.

I can't break up with him this easily, but I don't want to break Lexi's heart she's a good person and a great friend to me. No I need to stick to my plan, it's better to get away of Lexi's life than making another mistake, I need to do what I am really here for and that is to seek a revenge.

I slightly bow my head acting that I'm asking for his forgiveness.

"I'm sorry honey, I'll stay away from her". I said habang nanatiling naka yuko ang aking ulo.

I feel a hug wrapped my body, it's Marcus.

"I'm sorry too, you know me I'm a jealous person". Wika nito habang humihingi ng paumanhin.

He's a jealous type of person, yet he can cheat on me.

"I wanted you to be only mine". Wika pa nito.

He fucked up, a dirty filthy little liar. An asshole, a cheater.

He didn't love me, he just love the idea of having me;having me by his side.
