A cry for help

Esmond woke up, drenched in sweat and dehydrated. He reached for a glass of water, but it ultimately fell and broke.

Today, he felt like something devastating was about to happen; his hand was shaking.

The shattered glass alerted some individuals. One appeared at the window while two burst through the door.

Immediately, they surrounded him, checking every inch of his body.

"Are you hurt anywhere? Just say so; I'll help you."

"He doesn't have a fever, but make sure to check every nook and cranny," Keres suggested, making Gesine remove Esmond's blanket.

"Every nook?"

"And cranny!"

"I suggest you stop your ulterior motives, or else the three of you will become the prey."

"What are you saying? You can barely move," Cassandra chuckled as she grabbed hold of his shirt.

"I am a man of focus, commitment, and sheer will!" He remembered a movie he had watched.
