Ciara POV:
I was young when I ran away from my family. I didn't understand the world back then; it was like I was moving around in circles.
Being born into a family that produced mages, I was expected to be a mage the moment I was born.
They needed a genius to revive them to their former glory, and just like that, a prodigy like me was born.
I didn't ask for this. Maybe I would have lived my life a bit differently if that were the case. I was young. I loved my siblings and cousins, and they did the same.
When I awakened as a mage who could control all four basic elements, a rift between the family was born.
The siblings and cousins I adored were neglected. All the praise was directed at me. They grew hateful.
It's not my fault. It never was.
By the time I reached the age where I could attend the academy, the weight of being a prodigy grew.
