As they drove further away from the danger zone, the tension in the vehicle slowly vanished into the air. Grimgold's wound was tended to by Nadia, who expertly cleaned and bandaged the shoulder injury.
"Thanks" Grimgold said, wincing in pain. "I owe you one."
"No need to thank me," She replied. "We're in this together."
Nadia turned to Tyler, her expression stern. "You're lucky you didn't get killed back there. What were you thinking, sneaking out of the hotel?"
Tyler shrugged. "I just wanted to help. I didn't mean to cause any trouble."
Nadia sighed. "You're going to have to learn to follow orders if you want to stay with us."
Tyler nodded, looking down. "I will. I promise."
Ryker glanced in the rearview mirror, his eyes meeting Nadia's. "So what's the plan now? Do we go back to the hotel room or do we keep driving till we run out of gas, though none of those options guarantees us a peaceful nights rest"
