The truth {246}

Pov change

Akane made sure to show the girls the way to their room, Maki had half expected the room to be quite cramped.

So her surprise was quite evident as to when she entered the room, it was a lot bigger than her old home.

Matter of fact, the closest was the size of the room she and her sister slept in back in the Zenin clan.

Not to say the closest was small or cramped, it was 300 squared feet of space to store their clothes, still 300 square feet just to store their stuff, and the room was even bigger than that, like 600 or 900 square feet of space, give or take, she couldn't tell really.

What kind of house was this?

The room seemed to be recorded slightly, but the main color in the room was white as if the room was a blank slate waiting for its owner to change it to whatever shape their heart desired.

She looked taken back a bit at the sheer size of the room, walking around, she noticed the two beds in the room.

From observing the room, she could see that the ceiling was layered and recessed with soft lighting accents, it made the space look even more grandeur. A large, sparkling chandelier could be seen hanging at the center.

Her gaze then went toward the windows, they were two tall arched windows that allowed the natural light to flood the room, it was framed with full-length beige curtains that matched the neutral color palette of this room.

Basically reinforces the idea that the room was a blank state, ready to be remodeled.

She looked outside the window, and she could see a lot of vegetation, alongside a training area.

So whoever adopted her, had money....a lot of it.

In front of the bed, there's a plush, tufted bench and a small round ottoman. To the left, a comfortable beige armchair and side table offer additional seating.

Tldr, the place look pretty.

"Wow...." Mai said as her eyes gazed at everything in the room, she was quite literally dumbfounded.

Akane meanwhile just walked around the girl, looking all innocent, being so small that she looked like she was a small puppy.

She truly was a glutton, not only for curse energy but for attention too.

This room was on the second floor, while Shoko and Keitaro room were on the first floor.

The reason they got this room is simple, it was fully furnished, they got a perfect view from there, the Kitchen was close to them, this room had its own bathroom and so on, and also the minor fact it was separated from Keitaro and Shoko room by like two room with very durable sound canceling material.

That was just a minor detail, nothing to look too deep into.

It had nothing to do with Keitaro not trying to have the kids hear stuff they shouldn't.

"This place is big," Mai said looking around.

The girl's gaze then turned toward her sister.

"Do you think he is nice"

"Probably not, he is probably just trying to show himself as such," Maki said as if her opinion of Keitaro had been set in stone.

"He doesn't seem that bad"

"Appearances can be deceiving" Maki replied dryly.

"Master, not a bad guy" A voice was suddenly heard saying.

Both girls looked stunned glancing around the room.

"Over there, it's me"

As they followed the voice, they saw the eager Akane.

'She talks?' Was the thought going through both of the girl's heads right now?

"Of course, I can talk, I am a Kitsune" Akane announced proudly.

Before Akane could say anything, she felt Mai pet her head.

The girl seems to have found some sort of attraction to the Kitsune, finding it incredibly cute.

....

*CLICK*

The dot seemed to have lit up in Maki's head....the man said his name was Keitaro Namikaze, he was strong enough to make her father walk away in shame, have all the Zenin in the clan respect him, make pills, and had a Kitsune shikigami.

Why did she not figure this out sooner?

It was none other than the fastest sorcerer alive, the yellow flash, she had heard of him but never really paid much attention to him as you know, she had better stuff to pay attention to...like her training.

Though from what she saw now and from how the Zenin clan elders would talk about him, he seemed decently nice but powerful.

She refused to believe a sorcerer was this nice, they had to be something that he had to gain from adopting them.

They had to.

If not why else would he invest so much in them already, was he perhaps interested in a bribe...no, she saw the loving look he had in his eyes when he glanced at the girl on the couch, plus the whole time he was with him, not once then he looks at any of them that way.

At best he looked like a proud dad, at worse a brother spoiling his sisters, so why?

"You have natural energy" Akane flatly said.

"Huh?"

"Your body, you can't use curse energy because your body is filled to the brim with natural energy"

"Master wants to teach you how to use it to become strong and teach your sister how to best assist you, after all, you two are twins and it would be better if you two work together" Akane explained.

....

...

"But why...why does he gain from doing this?"

"Another strong sorcerer,"

"That it"

The Kitsune nodded her head.

"Head up, your training will be intense" The Kitsune warned as she went to the bed, coiled herself up like a spring, and slept peacefully
