Old friend {250}

Keitaro looked at the sun, the day felt quite wonderful, currently, he was just going on a small walk in the park with Maki and Mai.

It's been a month since he practically adopted them and he felt like their leg needed to relax a bit.

Just the three of them, he did keep a close eye on them.

He walked toward a nearby chair and sat down.

He looked at the two girls before saying.

"Alright, you two have fun, I will be here relaxing"

Though before he could say another word, Maki cut him off saying.

"Did you mean, write down notes..."

"Isn't that the same thing" He replied looking at the girl.

"You have a weird way of relaxing" Mai added looking at the man who adopted her.

He shrugged his shoulder saying.

"Well someone has to keep an eye on the seal to see how it's doing while you two perform your daily task, now go do some kid stuff" Keitaro had a smile on his face as he said that, to which the two girls just walked away.

Spreading his senses a bit.

"From whispers in the shadows, darkness takes form. Let the night devour, let silence reign, in the embrace of the Unseen Storm."

As he did so, his special barrier was erected, well now anyone who entered this barrier was within his range, so basically anyone who entered the park was in his range.

He watched as the two girls played, he went down on his notes and wrote down a few notes.

As he wrote down more notes, someone sat down next to him.

"Seem like something never change" A familiar voice was heard saying.

Keitaro notices 2 new kids playing with Maki and Mai, how nice.

One of them had brown hair and eyes.

The other seemed to have lightly blond hair, but more on the brown spot.

"Habits die hard," Keitaro said scribbling down more notes.

Finishing his notes he turns the page before opening his mouth and saying.

"So, how have you been...Geto"

Turning around to look at the man next to him, Geto did not look all that well, matter of fact he seemed to be quite thoughtful right now.

He pointed at the two kids playing.

"They yours?"

"Yeah, Nanako and Mimiko," The man said softly.

"May I know how you met them" Keitaro added calmly.

"On the day I deserted, After I exorcised the curses, those monkeys held the two girls in the cage"

Keitaro did not even question the monkey comment, just guessed it meant no sorcerer.

"I never thought you would have adopted two girls from the Zenin clan"

"Well, at first just wanted to teach them but the dad sold them instead so now I am a dad," He said stretching his body a bit.

"Keitaro, you do know that being a skilled jujutsu sorcerer requires skills, it's not something that just any monkey can pick up, so why her"

Keitaro could tell she was referring to Maki, to that he yawned before saying.

"She has a heavenly restriction that strips her of curse energy in exchange for a lot of physical might, you out of everyone should know how strong that is"

Geto looked like he was being reminded of a very bad memory.

He sighed a bit, leaning back on the chair.

"You do know you can come back right?" Keitaro remark.

"I cannot, my hands have already been stained, and I refuse to go back to serving those monkeys"

"One, Satoru and I are the strongest sorcerers alive, The higher up can't do shit about it if we say, Geto coming back, 2, those monkeys as you like to call them make up 99% of the population"

"Satoru...." The man seemed to have entered a deep state of thinking, either that or that was just straight-up depression.

"Satoru must hate me now.."

"That BS and you know it, if he did hate you, don't you think he would have used his six eyes to find you and then either used a domain expansion, red, blue, or purple to end you"

The man seemed to realize that but stayed stubborn, Keitaro sighed a bit.

"Well, if you ever change your mind, you know how to find me"

Geto gazed at the seal on his chest, that seal that Keitaro had placed on him so many years ago, never faded, it was true that if he wanted to, he could kill Geto at any time and yet, he never did.

The two old friends just decided to catch up a bit.

Later that day, Mai and Maki came back, from playing just as Geto left.

"Who was he?" Maki ever the observant one asks.

"An old friend" Keitaro replied.

"He looks depressed" Mai added.

"Maybe he is" He took in a deep breath before saying.

"You girl ready for some ice cream"

Mai's eyes shined, while Maki hid her excitement though he could tell she was hungry.
