Chapter XL - Excel (part 2)

Six hours had passed, and the end of the line had finally arrived. The ones lining up at the end are mostly noble's henchmen. Because now, most of the ones coming are nobles, high tier and low tier.

I healed a noble girl that had an extreme sickness, which is leukemia. The parents who knew just how severe it was became so happy. They ended up donating thousands of Jules to the church. Once again, I was thanked by the other nuns and priests.

Another hour passed, and all the people had been healed.

The last one was healed by a guest healer and left the church. Everyone else was exhausted to the point they all slept on the chairs. The priest and Khel also got quite sleepy, but I slept twice already during the act when the priest switched with me. I am tired, but I don't feel that tired anymore.

Now that all the line has ended, that person should come. So, I waited a bit.

After a while, a knock came from the locked front door of the church. The nun opened the door with confusion and got even more confused when she saw the person standing at the door.

There she is, the one I've been waiting for.

The whole nun and priests, as well as the guest healers were surprised by her visit. They suddenly stood up to welcome the queen, but the queen herself simply raised her right hand and laughed.

"Good day! Oh dear, was everybody tired?"

"N-Not at all, my queen. How can we help you??"

The nun at the door asked the queen, but the queen turned her eyes and searched the room. She finally stopped when she saw me on her left.

"I'm just here to see someone."

"Oh... All right then, please come in!"

The nun moved out of the way and let the queen walk towards me. Her body guard is now three, all big and muscular. At my current situation, I don't think I can defeat just one of them.

The queen sat down right next to Khel, who was surprised to the point where she couldn't breath. The priest is also the same. He couldn't figure out what was going on, even though he was also present last week when the queen came for the first time.

"Welcome back, my queen. How are you feeling?"

I said as I bowed my head, showing a sign of respect. I learned this from reading the book about respecting gestures. Reading can be useful, and I just wanted to show her.

She lifted her hand, telling me that is not needed. So, I lifted my head back up.

She closed her eyes for a second, and then she showed me the brightest smile she could wear.

"I feel really great!"

She smiled so brightly, and it nearly burned my eyes. How is someone so beautiful, the queen of a kingdom, smiling this nicely at me? It feels like a crime.

"Thanks to you, my sickness has been completely healed! Now, I can move normally without feeling any pain!"

She showed her moves by punching the air from her seat, rendering everyone else confused. But, it seemed like her guards were already used to it, because they just shook their heads. Though, one of them is facepalming.

"I came here walking, you know?"

She suddenly dropped that information, and I opened my eyes wider.

"W-What? From the kingdom's castle?"

"Yes! Like I said, my body is fully normal now!"

She stood up and took out one of her guard's swords and swung it. Everyone else is extremely confused by the sight, but I remembered back when she first came, she said she liked sword arts. So, I just smiled at her.

I guess... seventeen. If I include last week.

I have saved so many people... and I didn't even realize it. And one of them appeared right in front of me, showing me that she is now fully healthy.

This feeling... It felt painful. It made me want to do more.

So, this is how it feels to be a doctor... Certainly, there is a very thin line between being a doctor who saves people and being a superhero.

Perhaps... doctors themselves are superheroes?

"See!?"

The queen shouted to me after showing me her sword skills, and I can admit that she does have an elite level of sword skills. She can definitely be a high ranking knight or adventurer if she tries.

"But, you know..."

I lowered my gaze from her, putting my hand on my face. The queen quickly realized the change with my tone.

"Even when you are no longer sick, your body is still adapting..."

The queen looked confused as she lowered her sword from the air, but my point is clear enough.

"What... does that mean...?"

I let out a sigh.

"You may be healed... but that doesn't mean your body is strong enough to handle other illnesses!"

I shouted out of nowhere, scaring the queen. She quickly became so scared, but I didn't let go.

"What would happen if some other sickness attacked you?! That would be bad, wouldn't it??"

"Uh, umm..."

"I get that you want to be free, but please understand! Your body is still adapting to the situation, and it could leave you vulnerable to other sickness."

"What...? I-I see..."

She sat down again in shame, but this is a doctor's worry. She can never refute my words, even as a queen.

"I guess I am a little drunk in freedom, that's all..."

She quickly admitted, and I slightly regretted going hard on the yelling.

I recalled when I somehow got better with my magic points, back when I first came here. I immediately fought a bear, like who does that?

I let out a sigh on these similarities because I can relate to her feelings so much. Of course, what she's doing currently is still not okay, so we'll have to find a middle ground.

"For now, make sure your body is completely healthy and well. Try to stay in the castle for a few days, and don't do anything tiresome yet. Eat healthy food, and keep a healthy lifestyle. Until it's actually necessary, don't overdo yourself. Okay?"

I said with a much calmer tone, and she turned quite worried hearing my strict rulings.

"Uhm... How long should this 'isolation' last?"

"I really... wouldn't call it 'isolation'. Plus, I'm not cruel enough to sentence you to life imprisonment. So, give or take, two days from now?"

"R-Really?? That soon??"

She became quite happy, and her guards were quite uneasy with my answer. However, my answer had reasoning behind it.

"Given that you can already do this sword stuff now, it shouldn't be that long until your body is completely healed. So I guess... wait a little bit more to see if your body is genuinely good. And when that time comes... happy swinging the sword?"

I shook my shoulder, and the queen looked very happy. She immediately nodded at me with pure excitement, and I smiled back at her as a means to celebrate as well.

"Thank you. Thank you so much... And may I ask? What's your name, young savior of mine?"

The queen asked me, and I guess I have never given her my name. She only called me the saint healer, without knowing my real name. So, I thought it wouldn't hurt since she asked for it.

"My name is Rize."

"Well then, Rize. As a citizen of the kingdom, I'm sure there is something that I can do for you."

The queen said to me so suddenly, and everyone who heard it only turned shocked. Even the guards behind her were surprised, even though what I did was the same as saving her life.

However, her position is by no means simple. She is the queen, the leader of the kingdom right next to the king himself.

Anything she says will happen. And if she is giving me such an opportunity... then the possibility is endless.

Naturally... I will make use of this opportunity to the best of my ability.

I nodded at her with a soft smile, and I began to ponder about where to start.

"Thank you... Actually, my lady, there is something that you might be able to help me with."

I said to her quite carefully, and the queen turned interested.

"Tell me anything! I will do my best to assist you. Although, please keep in mind that it will only be something within my power. If it's anything detrimental to the kingdom, then I'm afraid..."

"It's nothing like that, my lady. It's actually... regarding my health."

I told her about what it was about, and the queen turned widely surprised.

I lifted my hand where my space ring is at, and I summoned the magic testing tool from it. I put my hand on the testing crystal pad, activating the tool. After the results came out, I showed the number to the queen.

She was quite surprised when she saw the output, but she turned confused right away.

"This... This many points... But only so little energy?"

She very quickly recognized the problem, and I realized that the queen is someone very educated.

"Don't tell me... It's--"

"Alfeid sickness, yes."

I explained to her just the important parts of my story. How I'm an adventurer, and how I conquered a Blue ranked dungeon just with my team of three.

She was quite surprised by the story, but she believed it. She was both amazed and worried.

I didn't tell her too much stuff like the God of Orcs or other stuff. Only some stuff that she should know regarding how I ended up getting this condition.

"As of right now, I can barely use magic. I have been switching with this old man for the past seven hours during the healing act."

I pointed my thumb at the priest right next to me, who was listening without saying a thing.

"But in the end, I couldn't take it. I was so tired to the point where blinking can make me fall asleep. In the end, I did sleep twice throughout the whole act."

"Oh dear..."

She put her hand on her chin, and then she snapped her fingers and looked at me.

"I... can help you. No, I will help you! I will have to learn where to look first, but you can rest assured, Rize.

You're not alone. I will use my power to find any knowledge that directly concerns your condition."

She said to me so firmly, and my heart was moved so much hearing it. I wanted to hug her, but I guess that would be going a bit too far considering her position.

"Thank you... Truthfully, this sickness doesn't really have a cure, but I intend to break that idea.

I'll make the cure myself. And I'll take any help that I can get."

I said to her confidently as well, and she lifted both her thumbs at me.

"You can count on me!"

I smiled at her, and it seems like we both just traded favors. I have healed her long unhealable sickness, and now it's her turn to do the same thing.

"My men will come and send you letters from me from time to time, along with some of any solutions that I can find. Do know that I will not stop until I find your cure!"

The queen said right before she left the door, and I bowed my head slightly at her.

"That's... Thank you very much."

I certainly wasn't expecting to have the queen's help like this. But, in the end, I did heal her completely. It's completely normal for her to return the favor.

She left after I made sure that her whole body was clear of her sickness. She waved at me at the door before she left, and I simply returned with a smile.

Perhaps... by myself, I couldn't find the cure. But if there are other people also looking for it, I might have a chance.

I have healed other people's unhealable sicknesses. The time will come when I do it to my own unhealable condition. I shouldn't stay crying about it anymore.

I put my back on the seat and rethink about everything again, from the first time I came here until now. Most of the time, I was never alone. Khel and Jrake had helped me from the beginning. There is also Vane, the knight lady who I haven't seen in a month. And then Hod and the others.

These two months have been great. I can't give up now.

All right, then. Enough crying and being sad.

Let's heal this unhealable sickness.
