The Assassins Federation, a legion of assassins that nested in every kingdom.
One of them, in Mazino Kingdom.
From the front, it was a simple barbershop in the kingdom that was located on the western main road. But in reality, a barbershop shouldn't even be this big. On the second floor of the barbershop, it is known as the Assassins Federation Headquarters.
A hooded man with a mask walks into the barbershop. All the barbers inside the room stopped what they were doing and stared at him as he walked deeper into the shop. He walked through the curtain at the end of the room and headed up the stairs, into the Assassins Federation HQ.
The hooded man stepped inside the door that leads to the main lobby. Inside the lobby, are groups of assassins talking to each other at the sides. They all stared at him as he walked towards the front desk, at the end of the room.
"State your business."
The old man at the front desk said impolitely at the hooded man.
"Tell me..."
The hooded man's eyes stared deeply as he said coldly towards the old man on the desk. Everyone else around them is keeping an eye.
"What has six faces and twenty one eyes?"
The hooded man said with a deep voice.
"If you are here to joke, you might as well--"
The hooded man slammed his hand on the desk, surprising everyone else in the room. The other assassins are unsheathing their weapons as they prepare to fight, but the old man wasn't moved at all.
The hooded man lifted his hand from the desk. And what was left from the spot he slammed, is a single cube of dice.
"D-Di-Dice??!"
The old man was shocked to death. His face immediately turned pale and sweat began rolling. He quickly stood up as soon as he saw the dice, and he felt like his life had never been threatened before.
The old man looked at the hooded man's mask.
The mask was white, with six big red dots. Two on the top, two on bottom, and two with small holes, for his eyes. Resembles the face of a six eyed dice.
"P-Please! Master Dice! This way!"
The old man left the front desk and headed to the side door. The hooded man followed him into an office room. The old man knocked before entering the office room. Inside is a young man, looking around twenty years old, writing on a book.
The young man turned his face to look at the hooded man that was entering the room. Once the hooded man entered the room, the old man quickly went outside.
The young man closed his book and placed his pen aligned with the book as he stared at the hooded man.
"So…"
The young man spoke out.
"How are you doing these days, Dice?"
The hooded man, Dice, didn't reply. He simply stood silently as the young boss felt awkward.
The young boss ended up laughing by himself. He slipped his hand on a pile of paper underneath his desk and pulled out a single file.
He dropped the file on the table to show it to Dice.
The guy known as 'Dice' walked forward to take the file. But before he could grab the file, the young boss pulled it away.
Dice turned his confused gaze towards the young boss. However, the young boss had something to say.
"This person is dangerous, Dice. I need you to understand that."
Dice tried to take the file again, and this time the boss didn't pull. He opened the file and read it, and then Dice looked back at the boss.
"What?"
"This target... How many numbers do you think she can survive?"
The young boss smiled awkwardly. He had known that this person, 'Dice', was widely known by the assassin community for how excellent he works.
And also by how crazy he is.
Unlike Evan who was known for his achievements, Dice was known for his effectiveness and excellence. He always does every work cleanly, without leaving even a single drop of blood. His victim's corpse was never found, nor did anyone ever speak a word of him.
Because of this, the federation had a hard time counting his achievements. Hence, he was placed second in ranking, below Evan.
'If only he didn't have this nasty habit of playing chances, he could have owned the top spot.'
The young boss thought as he stared at the assassin.
Right now, he is the top assassin in the federation after Evan's death. Though, he was already the best assassin even before his death. It was because of his habit to 'Dice' his targets, that he wasn't quite acknowledged by the other assassins.
Dice laughed as he continued reading. He closed the file and put it inside his magic ring. He turned around and left the room afterwards.
The young boss could only hope for the best. After all, the target is someone who even Evan failed to kill.

.
2 days have passed since the assassination attempt on me.
Valon told me to stay on guard, because the Assassins Federation will never stop until their target is either assassinated or dead.
They won't stop until I'm dead. The same goes for him, though, but they will mainly target me.
And thanks to his warning, I haven't been sleeping well.
All this time, I have been sleeping just nicely. The moment I fell into the bed and dream was the best thing I can ever ask for right now. Because after that warning, I have problems sleeping.
Every night, I slept with a sword in my hand. But, apparently sleeping with a sword on the bed is a bitch.
The sword cuts my thigh multiple times, making my bed dirtied with blood. I had to change sheets every night while running out of magic energy from healing.
And every time I tried to sleep, I had to make sure to barricade my window until it's extremely shut. Not even a gorilla can pry it open now. Though, maybe they could just break down the window in a single punch.
In conclusion, I'm lacking sleep.
During these two days, I haven't been doing my missions quite well. I accidentally sliced a bees nest on the first day, and even got stung a few times. And on the second day, I fell into a pond of mud because I was so sleepy that I couldn't even see the path.
Everyone else was worried. Not just the fact that I am being targeted, but also how I'm lacking sleep from worry. If I'm lacking sleep, I wouldn't be able to fight the assassins well.
So, Valey gave me a suggestion.
"Why not stay at my place?"
Everyone else stared at her after her invitation. We had just slain an army of undead in a small dungeon and are now heading out from it. She said to me as we walked out from the dungeon, and everyone was rather surprised by the sudden suggestion.
Cony was asking whether or not I'm sleeping again tonight, so Valey took this chance and gave me the invitation.
"Doesn't that also mean I'm putting your family in danger…?"
"Don't worry about my family! We have our own guards!"
I don't know how rich Valey is, but after coming to Valon's manor and seeing his guards, I know what she meant. But I still can't help but worry.
The fact that the assassin even took the chance and picked Valon's manor as their target simply means that they can actually deal with the guards.
Which is why I am hesitating, because if they can take the guards down, it's simply a one-sided battle.
"Then...!"
Cony strangled both me and Valey with her arms as she dropped her weight on us. Me and Valey had to struggle a little until we could see her smiling face next to us.
"Why don't I come too?"
Hod and Barett looked at each other. They couldn't do anything since it's totally a females only club. But with Cony along, we might have more chances.
