Chapter LXXVII - Light Speed (part 2)

Cane made the first move, and it was out of my prediction.

WOOSH!!!

If I kept on following my thought, I wouldn't be able to dodge that. That was wayyy too close.

He closed the distance of over ten meters in less than a second. I could barely see what happened, but I know for sure...

He mastered element augmentation. Just like Valey did, but unfortunately for me, the light element is the fastest element of all. It is also one of the rarest elements, as well as being one of the most powerful ones in terms of assault.

For Cane to fully master that speed, simply means that I am in trouble.

Right when the fight started, he immediately leaped forward and threw a kick at me, but using my otherworldly senses, I ducked just in time.

""Woah!!""

No one could have seen that coming. Body augmentation when the match just began? That's cruel and shocking.

What's more shocking, is the fact that the opponent was able to dodge it in time.

"I'm amazed you can dodge that!"

He said as he leaped backwards to stay away from me.

"I'm more amazed that you became this strong in such a short time."

"Well, there's more of that coming to you!"

He took another stance, and I noticed the slight weirdness on his stance. His stance is a jumping form, where the main foot is in the front, and his hands out of the way from his body's trajectory.

He is about to leap.

BAMMM!!!! 

Yep. My guess was right.

He leaped straight at me, planning to kick me once more, but my eyes were always faster than him. Compared to Prym, his speed is only half of it.

My palms landed on his face. Even though I didn't put a single force to my hand, him slapping his face on his own to my hand must've been quite painful. He rolled forward and landed his face to the ground, thanks to the super fast bitch slap I just did.

"Y-You!!"

He turned his face at me again, and I can see both nostrils dripping blood with his right eye bruised.

"What's the point of being too fast if you can't control it?"

"Tch!"

He became serious now. Instead of going straight forward and throwing a kick at me like before, his moves became a blur completely. 

"… That's more like it."

All of the sudden, a foot showed up in front of me. I lifted my right hand to stop the kick, and got thrown backwards thanks to the force.

I can feel my hand bruised from that kick, but he didn't stop there. Even after being thrown back, I was able to gain my balance. He understood at least that much, because somehow he appeared again in front of me.

But this time, with a light ball on his palms.

I can only watch as the light ball slowly goes brighter and brighter.

ZIINGGG!!!! 

An explosion from the light magic occurred. Light magic's explosion wasn't as explosive as fire magic, and the heat wasn't as big. But, an explosion is still an explosion. 

I got thrown backwards again. This time, a hint of charred skin can be seen from my face. I quickly healed that, and turned my attention back to him.

Cane isn't stopping his barrage of attacks. From behind the dust, six light bombs are flying towards me. I quickly enchanted my legs and leaped away. 

The light bombs exploded one by one when it crashed on the ground, and every time I leaped away, the bomb always aimed for the ground.

"Why are you aiming at the ground?"

I joked, which seemed to have made him slightly pissed.

"Why are you running away?"

He said as he took control of the last ball.

The last bomb.

I got an idea and shot out a firebomb. The firebomb crashed with his light bomb, and it resulted in a large explosion. Thanks to the firebomb having the larger explosion, the smoke it created was even bigger.

Fifteen fireballs quickly shot out from behind the dust towards Cane, but Cane used his light speed to dodge. 

But, by the time he stopped his light speed movement, I was already there to bop his head.

BAMM!!!

With a single punch on the back of his head, his face got buried under the ground. He lost consciousness.

Seeing that Cane fell to the ground and didn't move, his friends immediately noticed the end.

""Cane!""

His friends, Gen and Brian, came running at him at us to grab him from the ground. His face is very swollen, blood and bruises are simply everywhere.

"Did I... punch him too hard?"

"You think!?"

Brian seemed to be pissed. I chuckled and held out my hand towards Cane's face. My healing magic activates and heals his face in a few seconds.

"Woah… You can use healing magic?"

"Yep. He's not the only one evolving. Tell him that when he wakes up, okay."

"Got it. Let's go, Gen."

With a single nod, Gen followed Brian out. Before following the boys, Silica and Selina stared at me. Their gazes are quite intimidating and demeaning. Something is odd about them.

Cane said they are strong?

I unleashed a heavy pressure for a second towards them without having the others notice, but they suddenly grinned.

"Big sis is interesting indeed!"

"And she is also stupid!"

The two turned around after mocking me, leaving me completely speechless.

"Can't you at least be a little easy on him?"

A voice came from behind. I turned around, and noticed Jrake walking towards me. He… seemed a bit worried.

"Well, all I did was punch the back of his head. At least he deserved that much."

"Y-Yeah, probably.

Your magic was… very powerful, huh?"

He must be talking about my fire magic. I simply nodded at that.

"Well, I didn't really show much today. Just know that it will only become better in the future."

I said that with a wide grin, and Jrake chuckled.

Jrake then turned around and left me. I turned my gaze away and walked towards my friends. We continued our training uninterrupted for the rest of the day, since everyone was quite scared of us already.

The day finally ended, so we ended our training and headed home. Starting tomorrow, we will continue doing missions, just like any weekdays. And during weekends, we will come back here to do some training. 

This will become our new routine starting from now on, now that I am able to go fully open in the arena.

Meanwhile in the hospital owned by the kingdom, Cane gained consciousness.

"Fuahh!!"

"Oi! You have been sleeping for two hours!"

Gen sprayed cold water to his face, and Cane immediately woke up when he felt the freezing water on his face. It is autumn, and water is very close to freezing into ice.

"Can't you at least wake me up a little nicer?"

"Yeah? Take a look in the mirror. The girls tried to wake you earlier, but somehow they failed."

Gen then left the room, and Cane got up to see the mirror. 

He was very speechless when he saw the drawing of genitals on his face, as well as nerdy glasses drawn on his eyes. There's also a tiny bear on his left cheek, while a giant genital on his right.

That day, the world heard the scream of Cane as he found out that the tint was in fact permanent, and would be very difficult to clean.

The girls are very interesting indeed...
