The day after, I went to the Office to grab my ticket for the academy.
According to the master, the Magic Academy of Xyphon had already done their recruitment around a month ago. Which means if I wanted to join, either I waited for another year or I simply joined as a new transfer student.
Since it only began for a month, I guess why not.
Valon had already contacted the headmaster of the academy, the so-called Greatest Magician (that name still felt weird on my tongue), and that I will be entered as a new student. The schedule is next week, on the first day of the week, which is Monday.
But that technically means that I will have to leave right away. Today is Thursday, so if I want to make it to the academy, I will have to depart on Sunday.
I only have three days until I leave the kingdom.
That's bullshit...
But, the academy doesn't tolerate any more late behaviour, which means I have no choice but to abide.
It's okay. It is all for the sake of getting the healing magic.
Think of all the good deeds I can do after getting it. Three days is nothing, I'm prepared to leave even now.
After grabbing the letter of recommendation from the Office, I went back home and placed my body on the bed.
"Three days... What should I do?"
My eyes closed as I tried to think of what to do. I decided I should buy some stuff, starting with a bunch of thick clothes.
If my guess is right, then I will be living in the academy for three years. And surely, I will meet a bunch of weather and seasons that will come later on.
Damn... Three years…
Worst of all, I only have three days until I leave.
As soon as I stepped out of the inn, I took a deep breath. I enjoyed this air while I still can, and I started walking.
The whole day, I went here and there buying some stuff that I might need, starting from a bunch of clothes, canned food and other consumables, and some stuff from the adventurers shop.
Ah, I forgot to buy a new sword.
The newest sword that I bought was apparently bad in quality. It got broken back so easily back at the dungeon, and my knights sword is already chipped to hell.
At least I can still use it, so I guess everything is fine.
After going shopping for the whole day, I stopped by the library and returned all the books I borrowed. The old lady was pretty much an asshole, but I won't be seeing her for the next three years, so that's great. I might miss her, though.
After walking around for the whole day, I went back home in the evening.
Hod is supposedly transferred home tonight, since all his wounds have been treated and healed. Though he won't be working, but it won't hurt to visit him.
I cleaned up my room and then headed out to Hod's restaurant. And to my surprise, Fran was also there to visit along with her teammates.
Hod is with them. He seemed to be chatting and telling some stuff to him. When I came in, they invited me to join, so I joined in.
We talked about multiple things, like what Hod is going to do now that he is one legged, or about how I will leave for the Magic Academy in Xyphon.
Fran and the others were pretty surprised by that, but this was actually quite sudden for me also. I didn't expect it to be three days-No, two days. But since I was already late to begin with, the academy didn't give me any leeway.
We talked and joked around until the store closed. After eating, we all went back home.
The next two days were mostly just me saying goodbyes to everyone. Klane especially, left behind the most memorable farewell ever.
.
"I see. Goodbye."
"Eh? Can we like, hug or something?"
"No, thanks. Goodbye!"
.
????????
She then ran to the document room. I was pretty weirded out by her behaviour, but she probably just didn't want me to leave.
There has been rumours going around about her and Jrake started dating, but seeing how close those two even back then, I was sure it was already imminent.
Yes, the two just started dating. I believe it was around when I was gone. Was that a month ago?
I met with Jrake and told him that I will leave for the academy. Apparently the master already told him and Klane about that.
That's why she was being harsh... because she already knows.
"She was... pretty pissed, I guess."
Jrake commented when I told him how Klane reacted. I could only laugh and agree, then I left her a message through Jrake.
"Tell her I will be back, stronger than ever."
Jrake nodded, and we continued chatting like two bros. I bid farewell to him after we got tired, since it was already night time.
The next day, I went ahead and met up with Lyona.
It was quite difficult to talk to her, since her guards weren't really that friendly. Those guards were different from the one who went to Veldon with me and Lyona.
After hearing my name from the guard's mouth, Lyona came running from the front door.
We both drank tea in her room, and then she showed off her newly honed cooking skills at me.
Boy, does barbeque always taste this good? She has improved… much better than me.
I asked her about Eva, but she retired from being a knight, so she won't be Lyona's personal bodyguard anymore. But, she still comes from time to time to visit her.
We both chat about what happened after we came back home. I told her this wound is still unhealed, and that I will go to the Magic Academy to sharpen my healing ability and heal my hand.
I'm not sure what tier is required to heal my hand, but if I have to, I will cut off my hand and regrow a new one. So… most likely Emperor tier, but I hope even the King tier will be able to do it.
After talking with her for about… four hours, I bade farewell because I have other people that I must talk to. She walked me all the way to the gate and then waved her hand when I left.
