Today's class will be about Mathematics.
Hell yeah, I miss math so much.
After beating the 'haters' one by one, Milly came to me and told me that it's already eight o'clock. I immediately nodded and turned to the crowd of haters that were watching from the spectators seat above the arena.
"Sorry, everyone. Looks like we are going to continue this later!"
I said cheerfully as I left the arena, getting boo-ed.
"Phew~! That was fun."
I mumbled as Milly walked with me to the dormitory. Even though I fought a lot of people, I didn't even break a single sweat.
Milly definitely noticed it, and she was quite concerned about something. She studied my clothes to find if anything is wet from sweat, but there's just not a single sign of sweat.
The reason for this is probably because the air is so goddamn cold. If it was Mazino, I would be showered with sweat. The wind is surprisingly strong too, and the gymnasium is really well air conditioned.
But, Milly must've thought about something else, so I let her. When I arrived in the room, she excused herself quite shortly and left. From the looks of it, she also has a class coming.
It's nice having an escort. I'm not going to be alone here, after all. At least temporarily…
After changing into my uniform again, I went ahead and started going to the classroom. The classroom's building is placed right next to the girl's dormitory, so it is fairly close.
As I walk, I can feel the death glares directed at me. And since suddenly attacking someone in the open is a crime, none of them did anything besides doing these deathly glares.
These glares will get quite annoying after a while, but I'll have to get used to it. Once I beat up enough seniors, they will come to respect me, and the glares will definitely turn into respect.
Or fear, actually. I didn't think of that possibility when I challenged them...
From what Milly told me, I was assigned to class 1-E. One of the teachers also notified me right after the ceremony ended, that my placement will be in class 1-E.
And apparently, 1-E is the worst class there is.
The ranks of this school is chosen from scores, and the scores you get is from either school work or from the final semester test. But, since the first years didn't have any scoring tests to base on whatsoever, the ranking was based on their entrance test.
And the entrance test... I missed it. It's like months ago, and I was just arriving in this world. I barely knew how to read around that time.
Which means... I only have 0 as my test score. Hence, I am placed in the last class, class E. The classes are divided into five classes, from A to E. And since I didn't do the entrance test, I got placed at class E, and at the very bottom rank.
And right now, my rank is #126th. The very final position.
The rank updates every semester. Which means, for this whole semester, my ranking is dead last.
Before I head to the class, the teacher asked me to wait in the lobby for a second, so I waited. The lobby is fairly small, unlike the dorms. It only consisted of a map of the classes building, as well as the crystal used to check magic points.
How do I know the crystal can check magic points? Because there's a huge sign on top of it, saying 'Place your hand here to see your magic!'. And since it only says magic, I assumed it's magic points and energy.
I guess for a magic academy like this, they are bound to place some sort of magic checking tool out in the open for students to access. That way, everyone can try and see their progress, which I found to be quite neat.
Should I... check it? There's no one here to see me.
Because of boredom from waiting for the teacher, I looked around and noticed that the lobby was quite empty. Nobody will be peeking my numbers, so I went ahead and tried out the device. I placed my hand on the crystal, and my eyes couldn't believe what I'm seeing.
BLUB!!
This device didn't just show me my magic points. It also showed my magic affinities.
I remembered back at the Office, Klane told me that if I want more detailed information about my magic affinities, I should go and check it from a more advanced device than the one they had at the Office.
Because the one at the Office is cheap, ancient, and is simply too far behind in technology.
And this thing, right here, is the more advanced device.
-----
Magic Points: 10302
Magic Energy: 10299
Magic affinities:
x Fire magic (Intermediate Tier)
x Shadow magic (Beginner Tier)
x Healing magic (Knight Tier)
x ????
-----
W-What the hell?
Shadow magic?
And what are those... question marks?
H-Hold on... shadow magic? That reminds me, back at the Yellow ranked dungeon---
"Rize, right?"
A voice was heard behind me, and I immediately turned the device off. I can't let anyone see the magic points, and I turned around to face the person who was entering the lobby.
The teacher has arrived. She approached me as soon as she entered the lobby, and I was just smiling at her softly.
"Miss Henije..."
"Oh, I'm glad you remembered my name. Let's go to class, shall we?"
"Yes, ma'am."
Very politely, I began following the teacher to the classroom. The class is located on the second floor, right on the edge of the hall. The E class is called the end class for a reason, after all.
The teacher talked with me as we headed upstairs, and she explained to me a few things about the academy. Some of it I already know, but she was very surprised that I'm very polite towards her.
"I'm surprised you know how to speak politely! When I saw you talk smack at the ceremony, I was a bit worried that you'd be a wild one."
Miss Henije, class E's homeroom teacher, commented as we head to the classroom, and I only giggled a little at her.
"I know my time and place to wear which attitude, ma'am. I wouldn't cuss at someone respectfully older than me."
I explained to her, and Miss Henije laughed a little before she realized that we've arrived.
"Right, before we enter, I'm going to let you know that the students can be pretty... wild."
Seeing her worry, I smiled.
"Don't worry. Towards those my age, I'm pretty wild myself."
"I see. Then, I wish you good luck. Let's go in, shall we?"
