Chapter CVII - Tiering Up with Everyone

The firebomb flew to the skies, and everyone kept on watching until it finally turned into a loud and blinding light.

BAAAAAARRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!

The sound of the sky collapsing from the gigantic explosion can be heard all the way from a far distance. Everyone next to me immediately covered their eyes and ears to protect themselves, but still ended up getting pushed back slightly by the shockwave.

The firebomb was very much compressed, and it's also a Knight tier magic. Obviously, the explosion should be massive.

Sadly... I didn't notice that.

The firebomb was able to fly for nearly a kilometre from my location thanks to its compressed function, but the explosion became extremely big. It was so far away, and yet can still send a shockwave all the way to the academy.

I'm sure everyone has some issues with their ears now… whoops.

The smoke resulting from the explosion is extremely wide. It's like a nuke had exploded up there, with all the mushroom shape and all.

Though a nuke is definitely larger, this is still insane.

Now I have the power to decimate a kingdom in just one hour…

"Phew… that wasn't even a strong one..."

I mumbled while being very confused and stared at my hand.

Forget an hour. I could destroy a kingdom in a single strike. This is… broken…

Unfortunately, my mouth spoke without realizing the people around me. Once again, I made another mistake.

Behind me, everyone was already going mad.

"E-Excuse me?? It seems that my ears are a little bit messed up right now. Can you say that again??"

"Eh? That wasn't even a strong one?? Are you for real??"

Both Jericho and Manda, as well as the other students immediately barraged me with questions suddenly.

Today, I learned a lesson that I need to keep my mouth shut... all the time.

The class then continues with the students doing their shots at the skies, all while being watched over by many pairs of eyes from a distance.

Far up there, a large black cloud of mushroom can still be seen covering the entirety of the western skies, but the students kept on shooting their own magic attacks without minding it.

I'm sure some of the academy's higher ups came secretly to check. But with the class still going, they definitely wouldn't want to disrupt us. The other students from the other classes as well, I can see quite a few groups of students that have been coming overtime and left right after they found nothing.

While the others were firing into the distance, some of them came to me and asked for guidance on how to tier up, so I explained what I know to them. I told them about the details that I learned, like the purity of magic and how every magic consumes it. As a result, two of them managed to tier up from my tips, with one of them also entering the Knight tier just like me.

And now, all of them were asking for my tips.

Right in front of me are the entire class E students asking for my explanation. Everyone, including the teacher, is dying to know my key to success.

I facepalmed and began explaining.

"... Okay, look. The key to tiering up is the purity of your magic energy. The magic consumes your magic energy, so the purer it gets, the better your magic will be. Hence, a tier up."

My explanation somehow put them in confusion. I can't do this without teaching them one by one, so I have to put myself as an example.

"Look at it this way. My fire magic consumes magic energy to stay burning. A similar situation just like when a campfire is burning the firewood to stay burning.

So, what would happen if I gave it a more complex magic energy? It will become more powerful, of course. If you change the material that the fire is burning, for example, from firewood to oil…"

As I explain it, the flames on my hand turn from the normal yellow to red, and finally green.

"… The fire becomes stronger."

If only I can do blue fire, which is the King tier, that explanation would be cooler. But, unfortunately for me, this is the maximum purity that I can bring forth. Any further, and it's going to feel like I'm breaking my fingers apart.

Some of them nodded, others looked confused. But, that is all I can tell them. They need to figure out the rest on their own.

And after a while, the class ended.

Five students managed to tier up, including me.

The teacher was… shocked.

"Oh my god!!!! Five students managed to tier uppp!!!!!"

Our success means her money. Plus, tiering up one's magic is an incredibly daunting task.

Having five students to tier up from just a single class lesson of hers is simply fame, and possibly promotion, for her.

"Thank you, Rize!! You are a lifesaver!"

"Well, I did save lives back in the day. You are welcome."

"Yeah, I nearly forgot. Adventurer, right? Tell me! What did the monsters do with their magic attacks?"

"That's…"

"Are there any monsters that can withstand a certain magic?"

"Well, certainly…"

"What about-"

"Teacher. The class has ended."

I held her on the shoulder and turned her body towards the students who were waiting for her. She fixed her glasses' position and nodded.

"Ah, right! Then we shall continue in two days!"

"Oh… Okay."

What's in two days?

The teacher turned around and left to talk with the other students.

"Everyone! Thank you for participating in today's class. But for now, we will have to end it here. You all may return."

The teacher ended the class with a bow, which was somehow quite normal for the students.

It does surprise me that a teacher would bow at the students, but remembering that this is a really prestigious academy, I decided that I should ignore it.

So, I looked away and began following everyone as we began dispersing from the court.

But, just when I was about to leave and head to my dorm, my vision suddenly turned white.

My entire sense of balance got warped, but luckily I noticed what this is and immediately rebalanced myself. My foot nearly tripped, and I was very close to fall.

Once I had regained my focus, I looked around.

It seems that I have been teleported to the headmaster's office.
