The second class is the Magic Technology class. Unlike yesterday, today's class will be more about the technology topic instead of the mid-semester test.
The teacher discussed a lot about how the magic crystal works. There are tons of types of magic crystals. The crystal for light, the crystal for floating, even the crystal that can show data.
The crystal that was used to show data on magic tools is actually quite difficult to make. To show data on the crystal, multiple energy crystals are used. A single energy crystal only shows one symbol. So to say a lot of words, a single magic tool needs to own a ton of energy crystals on its body.
And funnily, a single energy crystal is only half the size of a pellet. So, to fit even a thousand words on a single tool proves no problem.
I was actually paying attention to this class since it's quite interesting to see how magic and technology could merge. Not that I want technology to fully immerse in people's lives.
I already decided that I will not bring my world's technology to this world, mostly because it will absolutely cause an imbalance. I will just let them discover the technology on their own, and see how vast it will be with magic compared to my world.
And, even without me doing anything, it looks like their technologies are actually already quite advanced. They have found a unique form of magic engine, and that is already super amazing considering how magic energy is a renewable resource.
The teacher continued to explain stuff about how a magic tool that checks a magic point works, as well as some history about it.
Apparently, the person who invented the magic checking tool used his own new born child as the measurement. He set his new born child's amount of magic energy as '10' points, and every time someone uses his magic tool, it would show how far that person's magic points are compared to the child.
Which means my magic points currently are at least a thousand times more than the child. And when I first came here, I only had twelve, which could imply that I was a new born baby at that time.
Interesting… I was a new born… baby…
That raises another question.
This body…
Is it… new?
The class ended two hours later, but no one exited the classroom besides the teacher.
Elmone quickly moved forward and told everyone about the plan. The first thing we are going to do is training.
Training is the most important part, because what differentiate us and those at class A students is skill. And to obtain skill, they simply require more training and practice.
Second is studying, because there will not just be physical abilities that will be scored. There will be a paper written test on the mid-semester exam as well, and to get a high score, they need to study.
And, I will be the manager of all of that.
"Rize. Have you figured out a time and place where we can train?"
Elmone asked me who stood right next to him, leaning my back on the class's board. When he asked me, I simply grinned.
"Yep. It is outside of the academy."
I didn't tell anyone this, but last night, after parting with Milly, I left my room and went to the forest that was behind the academy on the west.
And since I couldn't fly, I can only skim past the trees using my insanely fast running speed. And after running around for ten minutes towards the northern area, I arrived at the place I was searching for.
It's a mountainous area, where the top is nearly flat. Plus, it's fairly far away from the castle. This should prove a perfect place for training.
But to get here, even at my top running speed it requires ten minutes. But if we went walking, then it would probably take more than an hour.
Then their only choice was to make it there as fast as they could.
"It's very far away. If you walk, it will probably take an hour."
I said to the others, and they all groaned immediately. But, I lifted one finger.
"That... is why we are going to use it for training.
I want you all to use your top speed to get to these mountains. I will clock it every time we train, and from there I can see your progress."
My point does make sense to everyone, but thinking just to get to the location is a headache, they all started to feel lazy.
"And if there's anyone who is below that day's target, then they will serve a punishment during training."
I said that with a wide grin on my face, and everyone quickly shivers.
"M-Maybe start with where it is first."
Elmone suddenly said from my right.
"Ah. It is located all the way beyond the forest under the academy's cliff. All the way to the northwest of the academy."
""W-What??""
Seeing how the location is that far out, they all started to groan and doubt.
"Hey, I made it in ten minutes! What are you all worrying about?"
Apparently my argument didn't make it any better. They all already know me as some sort of monstrous existence, and my ten minutes could mean more than hours for them.
"G-Guys! Let's just try it out, okay?"
The class president, Elmone, said to everyone and showed as much excitement as he possibly could. He believed that there's a reason why I chose that place specifically, and that the place might actually be our best option.
Because, it really is. Choosing a spot inside the academy is just a foolish act. People from the other classes will notice and simply laugh at us. Or worse, if they manage to see our progress, then they will start training too.
That cannot happen. We must take them by surprise, when they are not ready.
"So, when are we going to do it?"
One of the students asked Elmone, and he simply pointed at the clock.
"Right now."
""W-What???""
The class quickly left the classroom and headed towards the back court. Luckily no one is here to witness us dropping down to the thirty meters cliff, so we can just do it without worrying.
"So… how are we going to drop down?"
One student asked Elmone, and Elmone glanced at me. I simply head towards the side of the cliff next to the girls' dorm. The spot I'm looking for was quite hidden from the other places because it's on the side of the girls' dorm. And right on the railing that separates the academy and the cliff below, is a hidden stone staircase.
"I didn't make this. Someone else who seemed to be a part of the academy must have done it in the past. And there's a reason for this to be here, obviously."
I said to the others as I took the first step down.
"Ah, I almost forgot."
I then turned around and faced the others.
I lifted my hand and opened my fingers.
"Today's target is fifty minutes. Anyone who drops below that will serve a punishment."
""W-What??""
They all looked confused, but I suddenly grabbed Elmone on his body and stood at the edge of the cliff.
"H-Hey! Rize!!"
"Look for the fire beacon! You'll find it easily."
I held Elmone tighter and enchanted my legs. And with enough power, I jumped down from the cliff with Elmone in my hands.
The students watched as I descended very quickly, along with the class president. But, there is actually a skill that I had gained from tiering up to Knight tier flame magic.
It's flying.
Well, not exactly flying. I can stop a quick descent with an explosion on my feet without having to burn my skin.
Because the flames are very explosive, it is actually possible to use that explosion far below my foot. That way, the heat won't burn my skin, but the explosion will be able to act as a support to slow down my fall.
I placed the class president on my back and ran like a devil. Enchanted foot and all, my running speed is no less faster than the five tailed hellhound back in that Yellow ranked dungeon.
The students from class E can only watch from the railings as I skimmed through the forest below them at high speed.
"Ah!! Fifty minutes! Come on!"
Manda quickly shouted and headed down the stairs, followed by everyone. As they skimmed through the jungle, they were met with a ton of wild beasts, and even some demon beasts. Luckily, their danger level was low, and the students could defeat them fairly easily.
They saw the flaming beacon after ten minutes while they were moving through the forest, and they continued walking towards the flaming beacon.
Disappointingly, no one was able to arrive within the time limit.
I guess I could give them a punishment like letting them climb a mountain's cliff not far from the training location with magic. I originally planned to let them climb without magic, but since fifty minutes was too quick for them all, I'll give them the chance to use magic later.
Still… as much as I want to see them do that…
This is still pretty disappointing.
