Chapter CXVII - More Training (part 2)

"I do hope you had a plan on defeating me, or else this will be quite painful for you and disappointing for me."

"Trust me... We have a plan."

Jericho said confidently with a grin, so I grinned wider at her.

We had already asked Lemillia to do the countdown, so she quickly moved up on my right and started the count.

"Ready... Set! Go!"

Jericho and Elmone quickly dashed forward and closed our distance in a blink. Jericho flew around five meters above the ground and shot plenty of her fearsome wind blades at me, the technique she just learned last night.

BAAR!!

BAAR!!!

The wind blades stabbed the ground and exploded, causing dust to close off the entire area.

I quickly moved away from the dust, and just when I exited the cloud of dust, a giant shadow fist quickly made its way at me.

BAAAK!!!!!!!

The giant fist punched me super hard and knocked me to the air, throwing me with an insane force off the edge. 

Seeing how I am falling to the sea of trees, I quickly used the wing on my back to start flapping.

Flying with only one wing is terrible! But, it had to do for now.

With only one wing, I slowly flapped upwards back to the arena. And out of nowhere, an intensely heated fireball-no, firebomb, came flying towards me from behind the smokes. 

And with only one wing, I couldn't dodge at all.

BLARRRRR!!!!!

The explosion was so powerful that it knocked me away even further.

Manda was charging that firebomb while Jericho and Elmone distracted me. And when it's fully powered, she shoots it straight at me.

Seeing how I got knocked even further, Jericho quickly made her way at me using her highest speed. I quickly balanced my flight by combusting flames on my hand like Iron Man.

Doing this can actually burn my fist, so I need to be careful.

VWOOOSHH!!!

She closed the gap in no time at all, and the closer she got, I could see that she was wearing a quite noticeable expression.

She wants to win… badly. 

They all do.

… Well, too bad!

The closer Jericho gets, the more she can feel the danger coming at her. It only takes me half a second to make a five meters long green firebomb using one fist, and she did not know about that.

I threw the firebomb at her, and she quickly dodged like her life was on the line.

BLAAARRRRR!!!!!

The explosion was far bigger than Manda's, and she took quite a while charging it, whereas I only took half a second. 

Jericho stared at the cloud of smoke from the explosion with a horrified face, then she turned her gaze back at me like she just saw the horror.

But by the time she turned her gaze back at me, I already had five giant shadow arms behind my back, all having their own giant firebombs.

Neat trick I just learned. I can cast firebombs using my shadow hands!

"Time to run, Jericho~!"

Seeing the grin, all the nerves on her spine vibrated, screaming and crying.

She quickly turned around and flew away as fast as she could go as I threw the firebombs. 

Ho-ho-ho… Merry Christmas, little Jericho!

BAAAARRRR!!!!

BOOOOOOOMMMM!!!!!!!

VWOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!!!!!!

The 'tiny gifts' that I sent her way exploded behind her one by one, causing one excitingly large explosion after another. They were not as large as the one I threw that evening, but around the same size as the one I threw back during Magic Aptitude class.

A ping pong ball size, but already quite deadly enough to destroy a kingdom.

BAAARRR!!!!!!

The final ping pong bomb was able to explode right behind her, and combined with all the explosions that were already exploding, the force threw her straight to the arena. She crash landed quite heavily, creating a crater as well as bouncing from the stone ground, quite heavily wounded.

Now, she couldn't move.

The other students stared at her condition in horror, but one student was terrified beyond others.

"J-Jericho!!!!"

Manda came to aid her, but she froze when the pressure landed on her.

With only one wing, flying is incredibly difficult and weird. I couldn't dodge a single fast attack, hence it should never be used as an option. So I made a new wing using my left hand, the same way Wyverns fly. 

Now, I'm flapping with two wings, one on my back, and another on my left hand.

I look like a completely creepy hybrid creature between a dragon and a wyvern…

Manda may have gone frozen, but Elmone doesn't give up. He threw a bunch of giant shadow ropes from the ground and tried to smack me using it, but I was able to dodge them pretty easily. Having two wings was enough for me to make powerful flaps, and each flap was enough to dodge his cute shadow tails.

Manda also began floating and used her fire magic to attack me. Even though her attacks could barely hurt me, it could damage my clothes, so I have no choice but to dodge.

BAARR!!!

WOOSH!!!

Now, the two are having me moving quite a lot. I need to take out one of them.

Elmone is wearing his shadow armor... so he can take a hit, right?

I immediately dashed down to the arena, and landed next to Elmone. He couldn't react in time, and I can see his panicked eyes behind his shadow mask, knowing full well that he is fucked.

"I hope your armor is strong enough…"

BAARRRRRR!!!!!!!

I released the fire blaze that was on my hand, and it immediately exploded towards the sea of trees behind me. Elmone was caught dead right at the source of the fire blaze, and he was blown away in an instant. 

Yeah… he landed somewhere in the forest like a green meteor...

Then I turned to face Manda. With a really terrified expression, she quickly placed her hand on the ground and created tons of giant stone spikes towards me, but I was able to dodge them.

I destroyed the stone spikes, punched away her firebombs, and finally arrived two meters away from her.

She activated floating again, but I moved my hand and captured her foot. Then I pulled her down and placed her face a centimeter away from mine. I placed my hand on her shoulder, gripping her and stopping her from floating away.

Seeing our faces only a centimeter away from one another, Manda gulped down her saliva.

"Give up?"

"… I give up."

"Hoooiii!!!!"

Seeing as if we were about to kiss, Jericho, who was wounded on the ground, quickly shouted loudly. Everyone else who was watching in awe quickly cheered.

That was an intense battle. I'm glad they wanted a go.

Manda quickly helped Jericho up, and I healed her wounds. I can see a little bit of her clothes got dust on it, but it wasn't damaged.

Even after crash landing that hard, she managed to properly land so that her clothes didn't get overly damaged. Despite all that force and wounds… she managed to save her clothes that are unhealable… That's amazing.

"Ah, what about Elmone?"

"Oh right…"

Jericho, who is now healed up, grabbed my hand and flew with me as her passenger. We arrived on the crater where Elmone landed, and found the guy in the middle of the crater, unconscious.

"You eh… didn't blast him too hard, right?"

Jericho muttered to me, so I shook my head.

"Not with my full force, no…"

We both just stood there, staring at the now naked Elmone. All his clothes were burned from the fire blaze, and his body was cooked... a little bit.
