"This should be far enough."
The old man slowly descended to a nearby open area in the forest below us. There stood a single tree only and around it, all the trees had been chopped down.
The old man landed on one of the large tree stumps and sat on top of it. I also landed on a nearby stump and sat down, ignoring the tired arms I'm having due to flying with one wing.
The old man glared at me as if studying me, but I didn't feel attacked at all. Somehow, he is studying my soul and not my body.
He suddenly chuckled seeing the confused and angry face I am making.
"Now, I'm sure you have so many questions right now, but let me begin first.
My name is Altin. The God of Creation magic."
God of… creation magic?
I have read about him in the book of gods of this world that I borrowed from the library. He said he is the only person in this world to ever reach the level of Emperor tier creation magic, and not even him can go to God tier. And aside from his Emperor tier creation magic, he is also very creative and has a powerful mind.
In other words, a genius.
"... Then? What's a god doing here?"
Going straight to the point, as I always do. And it seems like the old guy doesn't want to dilly dally as well.
"You see, as the God of Creation, I have created... an infinite number of powerful items. One of those items... one of the strongest ones, will resurface and become unsealed."
"Become… unsealed?"
He nodded grimly, which made me nervous.
"I called it the Rock of Energy. It's a gemstone that can enhance one's ability to use magic by nearly fifty fold. It was... one of my most powerful creations."
"And let me guess. It was miss-used."
The old man nodded again very half-heartedly. His eyes are brimming with guilt, and his expression shows nothing but anger and hatred.
He has changed from the peaceful old man into a vengeful sage.
"After it was created, I gave the rock of energy to my friend, who is the King of Xyphon at the moment. He didn't use it for any mischief, but his wife... stole the rock from him and sold it to an evil person.
So many people died… and it was all my fault for bestowing such a powerful item to a... a friend.
After the rock was recovered from the hands of evil, the rock was sealed away and will never be used ever again. This is done because the rock couldn't be destroyed. I made it a little too sturdy, hahah."
He chuckled slightly, despite the story being so deep.
"And after that, I... have been watching over the rock for a long time. But everything will come to an end, eventually.
The seal that was put on to the rock will eventually turn old, and collapse when the time comes. And when that time comes, the rock will be able to be taken by anyone."
"And the seal is about to die... very soon?"
"Around a week from now. The seal will die, and the rock will return to this world once more."
I let out a really tired sigh, knowing that this will lead to something rather tiresome.
"And this rock is... Where…?"
The old man then took a deep breath and let it out before finally answering.
"Right here, at Xyphon magic academy."
…
Why does this keep on happening to me?
Now, even gods are asking me for help.
"… How did you even find me?"
I asked the old man, but he shook his head.
"I… can't tell you that. So let's say someone told me about you, so I came to ask you for help."
"Aren't you a god? Why don't you do this on your own?"
"Even though I'm a god, my capabilities are only around creating and using creation magic, while my combat prowess is merely dropping meteors. In the face of real combat, I am weak."
That's... not weak at all… dropping meteors...
"What do you think will happen when the rock becomes unsealed?"
"My biggest guess is that a lot of parties will want it. Even as we speak, a single powerful group is already moving and preparing to retrieve it."
"... Which group?"
"Demons."
Ah… I knew it.
They really were up to no good. I thought they were just here to study and enjoy the academy classes, so I wasn't really paying much worry to them.
And to think they wanted a power like this... is ridiculous.
"And why trust me? I'm only a human, and you're a god."
I reasoned, but the old man then suddenly laughed. His laugh is a lot louder than before, so it took me quite aback.
But then he stopped, noticing that I'm not wearing a joking face.
"Oh, you were being serious."
A vein popped on my head.
"I can see that you haven't realized who you are, but I know exactly who you are. Not a lot of people do, though.
You are an other-worldly human, but you are also a member of this world. You are the very hope of every living being, and yet you don't even realize it.
You came from a world vastly different to ours, and yet you didn't use any prior knowledge of that world to change things here.
You are a waste... That's what I think you are."
The old man said coldly while closing his eyes, not noticing the change in my expression at all.
My fist clenched really hard as anger inside me started to boil, but I can't help but think that he is right.
But... I am me.
I do what I want, whenever I want.
No gods can control me. If anything, I want them to answer me.
"… What was that…? A hope for every living being? An other-world human?
Died… right before I came here. I have done everything I can to survive, so that the same thing wouldn't happen again. Exactly which part of my life makes you think I'm a waste?
I had to survive on this cursed land all alone, and I managed!! For… how long now, six months?! I have saved people before, in case you haven't noticed. And I didn't even get a shred of... medal? Praises or pats on my back??
All I did... was survive and try to stay alive, even losing my sanity. And yet you still called me a waste!?
I have no idea what the hell happened right after I died, and all of the sudden I'm in the body of a woman. I was trying so hard to stay alive and figure everything out, but with no clues and leads given to me, there's only so much that I can do!!
Not to mention you… 'gods', actually wanted to kill me before. Should I mention the god of orcs? Or maybe that black skeleton bastard who killed me-"
"Black skeleton…? You mean..."
The old man pondered over my word for a long time before he finally came up with a conclusion. One that he never liked.
He turned his gaze back at me, with a serious face now.
