Chapter CXXVI - Early Vengeance (part 1)

Out of all the tests the academy is giving us, I think the worst one for me is the magic technology class.

Not because of me not knowing about anything technological...

I have no idea about this world's technology, especially magic technology, and I will probably never understand it. But it's a must in this academy, and I have to learn it whether I want to or not.

The question mostly talks about how magic does things to an object. A good example is what kind of reaction will happen if one were to insert a bunch of magic energy into a piece of metal.

… I don't know? Magnetic stuff?

I just filled the paper with whatever I can, and just hope for the best later. Who knows, I might actually score great just by randomly answering, because that happens sometimes.

After the test ended, the class quickly grouped up outside again. The sun is already above our heads, and today is the final day of the test. It's still only Thursday, and there's still Friday and Saturday as our day off.

Next week is when the Autumn event will be held. It is also when we can exact our vengeance on the class A students by beating them on the events and get high placements on the minigames.

Which means, there's only one thing to do...

"""Training!!!"""

They all shouted right after we left the class building.

"You all really liked training, huh?"

My mutters weren't heard by them, and they all left without me. Wait, who's going to train you guys if it wasn't me?!

"Okay, I'm going to go grab a couple of meals first."

Jericho said to everyone as she headed to the canteen. I told her I'll come with her since I also needed some yummy yums chikins to eat, and we both went to the canteen together.

Everyone else already booked their meal when they had breakfast this morning so they are all prepared to train afterwards, but I somehow forgot that today is the final test day. Seems like it's the same case for Jericho.

That, or the two of us are simply lazy bums and woke up late everyday.

"One cooked chicken, please."

"Cooked chicken for the red lady!"

Once he was done cooking, the chef gave me the box filled with my cooked chicken. He basically already recognized me from my hair color and my routine coming here nearly every day at almost the same time.

I mean, I don't pick any other spot. I don't trust the other food menus, and I'm not one to always try new things. There might be pork in them, and I'm not one into pork.

"Okay. Got our meal. Let's go."

Jericho said after she grabbed her bag'o lunch and walked to me. She turned around to face the exit, but someone quickly approached her and stood in front of her.

Huh? He looks familiar.

"Well, if it isn't class E... The top of the top, am I right?"

"Bejmin. Let us leave."

Jericho said coldly, but the guy shook his head calmly.

"No can do… I want to know what kind of tricks you guys did to cheat on the exams."

"… And if we don't want to?"

Jericho asked again, but he didn't answer. Instead, he just grinned widely. Behind him, I can sense multiple presences watching us with enmity, the same one coming from him.

He is not alone.

"You lot should just give up. Even if you use cheats, in the end a trash is a trash... There's no changing that."

"What did you-"

"Jericho."

I placed my hand on her shoulder, and Jericho quickly calmed down.

Why is it that she always loses her temper very easily?

"… Right. Let's go."

Jericho moved to the left and immediately got blocked by another guy. Behind Bejmin, there are seven more male students and three females, all looking for trouble.

It didn't take a genius to understand the situation, and Jericho knows just by looking at their faces.

"Rize. They are not here to talk."

"Fuhh… I'm so hungry..."

I let out a whistle. They don't look like the kind to talk.

"Listen, kid. I'm not sure if you are sane, but she is definitely different than before. I suggest you move out of the way before she starts losing her mind."

"What was that, tomato head? I can't hear your voice over the chirps of your puny lips."

Wow. He learned to talk back.

"I'm saying-"

"Oh no! The smartest, class E students, are talking again!! What am I supposed to answer!?"

He suddenly moves around like some slithering worm. His friends supported him by following him. I can feel Jericho's bloodlust, but I still had my hand on her shoulder.

I let out a sigh.

"We can't talk our way through."

"… Right."

"And sadly, the headmaster isn't here. I can't just punch them down out of the blue and get away with it."

"… Right. We are out of options."

"Well, I do have one in mind. But it might take a while."

"Let's just do it… the others might be waiting."

"Agreed. I'm quite hungry."

Jericho and I let out a sigh, and then we both opened our eyes and turned to the class A students while grinning.

"We challenge all of you to combat."

I said to Bejmin, and a grin quickly formed on his face.

"The two of you? Against… All of us?"

All ten of them moved forward, and they all wore the same fearsome faces.

Wowie, I'm scared, help me.

"That's fine. We wanted to end this as quickly as possible too."

I said with a cheerful tone.

Bejmin looked pissed, but he formed a grin right after.

"Then… Let's head to the gymnasium."

And just like that, we all went to the gymnasium.

We met Manda along the way. Everyone is already going, but she stayed behind for me and Jericho.

Seeing how me and Jericho left with a bunch of class A students, Manda quickly got worried.

"Rize! Jericho! What happened?"

"I'm sorry, but it looks like we need to teach the class A bastards a lesson."

"Yeah. Don't worry, it won't take long."

Me and Jericho were grinning evilly, and even Manda got scared. She ended up coming with us as a spectator.
