Chapter CXLVII - Battle on the Mountains (part 1)

The kingdom moves very quickly.

A student gets kidnapped and the kidnapper demands Julius Polaris to go to the northern mountains, which is the enemy's base that was found out just a while ago. It is clear that they have some sort of trap to kill Julius, but the arch-mage is not a scaredy cat.

"Stop, Julius! This is very clearly a trap!! Please rethink this!"

The king of Xyphon pleaded to the magic king. If Xyphon lost their arch-mage, the possibility of the kingdom's downfall is very high.

But the arch-mage knows better than anyone that saving lives is the very point of being an arch-mage. After all, that life is someone that he knows.

"I can't leave her be. Who knows what kind of experiments Astar will do to her. Plus, she is far more important than I am."

The magic king of Xyphon said as he flew out of the middle castle towards the northern mountains. The king could only let out a sigh as he returned to his home.

While he is flying, Julius can feel a presence coming towards him at high speed from the ground to the left. It's Veneo, his dear old friend.

The headmaster flew closer from the ground and finally on the same pace as the arch-mage. The two flew side by side.

"Veneo! Why are you here?"

"Well, I'm not going to let you go alone. Besides, I owe her more than you do."

"… Right. But still, they only want me."

"I know. That is why I brought all of them."

The headmaster pointed below him. Right below the headmaster, Julius can see multiple people flying just the same speed as them.

They are the students of the academy, and they have come to save their useless council president.

"Hahah! But do you think I really came alone?"

The arch-mage pointed to his right, where a squadron of sixteen mages was flying a little bit above and behind him.

Seeing that the arch-mage never planned to come alone made the headmaster laugh.

"Alright, then! Let's get her back."

"Sure do!"

The headmaster then turned his flight and returned to his students, leaving the arch-mage to fly alone.

.

.

.

"The arch-mage is coming sir! Our reports just said that he left all by himself just now!"

A voice can be heard by my ears while I am still unconscious. Even while being unconscious, my super hearing can still hear a lot of things.

It's… fazed. But, I can still recognize what they were saying.

"Then we shall be prepared! There is no way that he is by himself! Send out the army, we will kill him as soon as he lands!"

"""Yes sir!!"""

The shouts were heard at the same time by a group of soldiers alongside the sounds of metal boots smashing the ground and leaving the room.

So the arch-mage is really coming to save me, huh…? Well, he better be.

I saved his ass back at the floating island… He better do something.

"What about her sir?"

Another voice came a little bit closer to me. But since I am still unconscious, I can't really tell their faces.

"Oh, I was actually planning to make her into one of my subjects, considering how strong she is. But we are pretty busy now, so do whatever you want that doesn't kill her."

"Yes sir."

W… What…?

I'm going… to be turned into a chimera…?

That voice… the leader. That was Astar Besmar, wasn't it?

I can feel the ground being lifted again as my body got taken away once more. Even while being unconscious, I can still feel a little bit of what is going on outside. Some may call this Hypnopedia, but really it's just my magic senses at work.

I can tell things while being asleep. Obviously this has never happened back before I came to this world. So I am guessing this is the work of my magic.

I felt my body get moved to a spot very slowly. Looks like they don't want to hurt me after all.

But I can feel something is getting wrong.

It's getting… colder.

My nose can smell something really good… and also something else that is horrible.

They… are not going to kill me… right?

I'm not going to be merged into something… right?

It's… cold…

My magic is not working, and so my skin ended up becoming more sensitive to temperature.

But… this feels weird…

This feels wrong…

Suddenly, my consciousness slowly came back as my eyes slowly became opened.

I couldn't see clearly at first because my eyes just got opened, but just from hearing the giggles around me has told me that everything is wrong.

The stench became even heavier to my nose. The freezing coldness of the air became colder. My hearing became cladded in the voices around me as all of my senses were returning.

The moment my eyes can see clearly what is going on, my very soul shattered.

Shattered, to the point of no return.

Now I get what they are planning to do to me…

Since they never wanted to return me to the academy, I am to be disposed of…

And food… should be enjoyed before they are disposed of…

Around me are six men. Naked.

My hands and legs are tied to the ceiling with chains, and I'm fully naked as well.

I'm going to get raped.

.

.

.

The arch-mage landed all by himself on the northern mountains, exactly where the base of the enemy was found.

He looked around to see if there was anyone here, but his senses couldn't pick up anything. He turned to look at the entrance, and a single person walked out.

He couldn't sense him at all. Why can't he sense him?

"You must be wondering why you can't sense anything here!"

A shout came, and a single Astar Besmar walked out of the base entrance, wearing his usual business clothes.

His gold ornaments on his neck and bracelets are reflecting the sunlight, and the wide grin on his mouth showing his white and gold teeth.

"Astar... Release the girl."

Julius said with a sharp tone, but the businessman plus scientist simply shook his finger.

"Tch, tch, tch… I never thought you are this stupid, your majesty 'Magic King Julius'. Did you really think I would just give her to you just like that!?"

SREGGKK!!

Astar lifted both of his hands, and from on top of the cliffs surrounding them, his henchmen appeared from the grasses, trees, and rocks, with every single one of them pointing their wands and magic attacks at the arch-mage.

Julius looked around to study his surroundings. Certainly, they all have the high ground. Plus, Astar must have some other secret weapons within his stash, which makes them even more dangerous.

"Surrender your life... Then I'll rethink about giving her back."

Astar said with his wide grin still intact, but the arch-mage simply chuckled.

"And what about you…? Did you really think I would come without preparation?"

The arch-mage lifted his hand high up, and Astar turned his gaze upwards.

"W-Wha!?"

VWOOM!!!!

BAAAARRRRR!!!!!!!!!!

Multiple magic attacks rain from the skies, attacking the henchmen stationed on top of the hills. Screams came from the henchmen as they lost their lives from the attacks.

Astar kept on looking up into the skies to see who did that, and mages in dark purple robes slowly flew down from the skies, showing themselves.

"Purple robes... Master magicians?"

"That's right. They are all on my command. Now, it is your turn. Surrender and give her to us, and we will think about sparing your life."

The arch-mage said to the mad scientist, but Astar simply grinned even wider. His grin turned into a chuckle, and the chuckle turned into a laughter. The maniac laughter can be heard from the whole mountain.

The students and the headmaster, hiding from the distance in the mountain to the left, looked at each other confusingly. Why did the evil guy suddenly laugh?

"And here you think... Hahah!... That you are the only one with preparations... Haha!!"

The arch-mage's senses suddenly picked up some incomings, and he turned his gaze up to the skies in front of him.

"Shet!!--"

BOOOMM!!!!!!

BOOMM!!!!!

BOOOOOMM!!!!!!!!!

Tens of powerful living objects dropped down from the skies and slammed the ground right in front of them. Some of them even aimed for the arch-mage, so he had to move away so that he wouldn't get pummeled.

The arch-mage landed his foot a few meters from his original position, which has been completely taken over by tens of these individuals.

"Damn it... He still had more of those things..."

The dust cleared and showed everyone the sight. It's the anti-magic chimera monsters again, and there are around sixty of them.

Possibly the leftovers of the previous siege against the kingdom. Nevertheless, they are still dangerous.

"Go my children!! Slaughterrr them alllll!!!!"

The monsters became wild and rushed forward. Some of them who can fly started flying and went towards the master magicians on the skies.

These things, despite their insane physical strength and sturdy skin, are resistant to magic. Fighting them would be a heavy challenge.
