The next day, I came to the Office with shiny new gear.
Everyone was very shocked to see someone with armour this shiny, but I simply ignored their gazes and sat at the diner by myself to wait for the others.
I had planned with everyone to meet at the diner so I can show off my new stuff. Everyone agreed and decided to meet right after breakfast.
This armour may look like it is covering my entire body, but it is actually very easy to move around on. Some parts of the joints were connecting the two pieces of metals using dragon scale cloth. And thanks to the dragon scale cloth, this thing is completely fireproof as well as indestructible.
There's also a short half skirt on the pants also made out of black dragon scales cloth connecting pieces of the Nychromium steel. And what is funny is that the skirt is placed outside the armour.
I have seen some female armour like this. It may look cool, but it's difficult to sit normally. I have to make sure I am not sitting on it or else I will have my butt touching the metal.
Also this armor is different from those female armors that barely cover the skin. This one covers all my skin, fortunately. Looks like the old dwarf understands what proper armor is truly like. Except for my head, because I specifically asked him not to make a helmet.
Why? Because helmets are suffocating. I will need all my focus during battle, and helmets basically do nothing but annoy your vision. If your head is going to get hit anyway, then why bother learning defensive techniques? There's also the existence of magic, which can definitely protect my head.
I sat down and waited for everyone while leaning the scythe covered with bandages on the table. It is still covered in bandages, so I can surprise everyone later with how cool it was.
One by one, everyone came. They sat at the diner and complimented my new armour. And when I told them this is the Nychromium, they all whistled.
"That's some expensive way to get really strong armour."
"Indeed..."
Brod and Fran commented, but I simply shook my head.
"No, no. For someone who doesn't need armour, it makes sense if I only get armour when it is super powerful."
Hearing my reason, they nodded.
"Then? What about the scythe?"
Ah, right.
Seeing that everyone is here, I can finally show them my scythe. Everyone saw it being covered by the bandage, and they all were curious as to how it looks.
I lifted it up and started releasing the bandage covering it. The bandage fell to the floor and showed the beautiful scythe under it.
From the handle to the top, it is black, but the blades are metallic blood red. There is a cool looking dragon skull engraving on the top of the long blade. The short blade, I'm guessing where the short knife went, is facing the opposite side from the longer blade, and it is not curved.
The longer blade is curved and is really sharp. It is about one meter in length, and it reflected the sunlight that entered the diner of the Office. The design is fairly simple except for the dragon skull engraving, but this much is all I needed.
"It looked... So fucking cool and scary..."
Fran mumbles, and for her to curse like that made me know that she is speaking out of her heart.
"I'm glad you liked it. I requested the old dwarf to make it as cool as possible, but he only added the dragon skull engraving at the top. I imagined more decorations to be honest."
"Rize... What is it made of…?"
Brod asked a little bit worriedly. He is not looking at a Nychromium scythe. He is looking at something more powerful than that.
Brod always has the ability to study something really quick. It's one of his special talents. He can study a person's behaviour and personality. He also can recognize a material instantly, and he has recognized that this thing is not made out of Nychromium.
Something... more powerful.
"Oh, right. This thing is made out of Reinforced Nychromium. Which is fairly... ten times stronger than a normal Nychromium."
"""What!?"""
Everyone became shocked, but I quickly gave them a reason.
"I mean, think about it. I needed a weapon that doesn't get easily broken from using it, and this weapon might actually suit me."
"That... makes sense, but isn't compressed steel so much heavier than regular steel? How heavy is that scythe?"
"Try them yourself."
I moved the scythe handle so Fran can lift it. But the moment I placed it on her hand, the scythe immediately dropped to the floor and destroyed the wooden ground.
BLAM!!!!!
Fran held it just in time before this thing started pushing downwards and destroying the ground completely. It is literally as heavy as a mountain.
"How... are you lifting this so easily!!"
"Let me try, let me try."
Brod moved in and tried lifting it from Fran's hands, but even he couldn't lift it up. The two ended up trying to lift it together, but they just couldn't do it.
Cane, Rath, and Emily went in and helped to lift it up. And since the handle is nearly two meters, their hands fitted the handle and they all tried to lift it together.
"Ready!? One. Two!--"
"""Nnggghhkkk!!!!"""
They managed to reach one meter from the ground after Fran's count, but then they got tired and placed it back on the floor slowly.
And when placed slowly, the scythe didn't crash through the ground.
Magic forging really is odd indeed…
After lifting it, they got so tired that Cane and Rath sat on the floor next to the scythe while the others sat back at their chairs.
Everyone who was watching looked really confused seeing that these high ranking adventurers get so tired from simply lifting a scythe, but they didn't dare to try it out.
Until someone came and talked with us.
"Hey, guys... Are you guys okay?"
It's Emlar. He just came to the Office along with his friends, and he wanted to greet our team. But seeing them like this made him hesitate to speak.
"Hey Emlar... We are just... Haha... Catching our breaths."
"What?"
When Brod and the others told Elmar everything, Emlar quickly turned curious. He tried lifting the scythe from the ground, and yet it's not even lifted an inch. His friends moved in and tried while my team moved out of the way to let them try. They all ended up working together to try, both my team and Emlar's, and yet they still couldn't lift it.
This felt like the Thor's hammer challenge for some reason.
In the end, everyone gave up. Seeing them on the ground, I moved forward and lifted the scythe from the ground. I swung it around with ease, making a scary but beautiful noise as it cut the air.
Seeing this, Emlar quickly asked as I played with the scythe.
"How... Are you lifting it so easily??"
"What? I don't even know why you guys couldn't lift it."
I swung it around and even spun it in my hand. The sound of the wind as it spun was so satisfying, but it made everyone extremely terrified considering how heavy it is.
Yep, having an actual physical scythe is so much better than having a shadow scythe as my weapon. With a physical scythe, I can let go of the scythe. But if I use a shadow scythe, the moment I let go of it, the scythe will disappear into the air. Also this one has weight to it, and it can be greatly enhanced with magic energy.
This is definitely better.
I spun the scythe with my left hand and threw it in the air. It spun while in the air and I captured it with my right hand easily. Somehow I can do this stuff, now.
The wind does gust a little bit since the scythe is rather powerful. It gave everyone a breeze when it spun in the air, and it landed nicely on my hand.
Emlar talked with Fran in the distance while everyone else listened to my story on how this scythe and the armor came to be. It was a long story, but everyone was fascinated by how smart and talented the dwarf is. They said nothing about me, or how tired I was.
It can be said that I am pretty disappointed with my squad members.
Right after I finished the story, the door to the Office got slammed open, and a man in a farmer outfit walked in and shouted.
"Dragons!! Dragons are sighted near a village!!!!"
In my heart, I let out a sigh.
Looks like I'm buying a house tomorrow…
