Four

Both Historia and the man who saved them just stared at each other. "Golden eyes," the man says and Historia quickly hides her face from him.

'Sh.t, he probably knows about my identity. As far as I know, only the Crane Family had golden eyes in this Empire. I should've used an eyeglass to hide these eyes of mine!' she thought to herself.

"Stop hiding, I already know who you are, Lady Historia," the man said, which made her let out a heavy sigh. She removed her cloak and looked at the man in front of him. Historia doesn't know the identity of this man so it might be dangerous for her now that this man might report what happened tonight to her father. "What are you doing here in a dark alley? It is very dangerous to go out of the night without a knight by your side," he added.

"Before that, please help me heal this lady," Historia replied. The man stepped on the back of the crouching man.

"Let me finish this, My Lady."

After a few minutes, the knights had captured the two men. Historia and the lady she met a few minutes ago are now at the hospital, assisting the lady in receiving treatment.

"You should go back to your house, Lady Historia. I'll send a message to the Crane Duchy to pick you up," the man said, causing Historia to look at him.

"No, don't let them know I'm here," Historia said, looking into his eyes. It was as if she was begging them not to tell them that she had run away from home, or else her father would lock her up again.

"Okay, then. I'll let you use the teleportation card; don't worry, it's magic that can transport you to the Duchy's residence," he said, making Historia feel relieved. She then looked at the woman in front of her and clasped her hands.

"Is she gonna be okay? I want to take her home," Historia said while holding the lady's hands. The man looks at her in confusion and observes her actions.

According to rumors, Lady Historia is greedy and selfish, so how can she be concerned about the lady's health? When she only cares about herself and is unconcerned about others. "Hey," Historia summoned him.

"Yes?" he replied.

"Can I bring her home too?" The man was having thoughts at first before giving a response to her.

"You can't, the Duke would be suspicious of her on how she got into your mansion, my lady. Visit her here tomorrow and bring a knight with you for your protection," the man replied. Historia breathed in and out as she considered this. She realized that he might be correct.

"I'll go home now," Historia stated, standing up. She decided to return here tomorrow and check on her. If she wanted to take her to her house, she needed to get permission from the lady first.

"Here, use this card and tell the card your location and it will bring you there," the man said and gave Historia a card with a circle symbol in the middle. There's a word that cannot be read as it is written in a foreign language below the circle symbol.

She took the card and stared at it. She didn't think there was such an item like this. If she can't have powers or doesn't have mana, maybe she can use these kinds of items too. "Thank you, and thank you for helping us out earlier. I appreciate your kindness," Historia said and looked at him, giving him a genuine smile that made the man move.

Her smile made his heart beat faster, which made him look away. Still, it could not hide the blush from his cheeks which made Historia chuckle. "You may go now, My Lady," the man says. Historia waved her hands and used the card.

In just a second, Historia goes back from her room. She was amazed at how the card worked. After she used the card, it slowly disappeared from her hands. "Wow," Historia exclaimed.

It was finally morning, Duke Crane invited everyone to their dining area to eat breakfast and they were informed that the Duke at the House of Ascavel was here to eat breakfast with them. Historia was confused about it, what would the Duke Ascavel do in their house?

"Well, probably, they'll talk about the war that was going on with the other peninsula," Historia said to herself. Since the Crane family can heal, they are ranked third among the empire's strongest families. Duke Ascavel also requires their support in the war.

Historia had no maid since she already kicked them out and couldn't even find one, so she dressed herself. She didn't even bother to ask for help from her brother or her father, she doesn't want them to have headaches since she also has the right to find her maids. Someone knocks on her door after she has finished getting dressed.

"Historia, it is me." She let Redam in, and when he entered, he was surprised to see his sister preparing herself. "Where are your maids?" Redam asks.

"I kicked them out a few weeks ago," Historia replied and smiled looking at herself in the mirror. She was truly amazed by how beautiful her face is. "I am done!" she exclaimed and looked at Redam looking at her with a shocked face.

"You didn't tell me you already kicked your maids! Let's try to find some new, I will help you. I'll let Father know too to give you a knight to protect you, but first, we need to go now. Duke Zion Ascavel is already at the dining hall," Redam said with a gentle smile on his face. Historia nods her head in response.

They are now a little closer to the dining hall; just a few more steps and they will arrive. Two men opened the large door in front of them. While looking around, she was shocked to see him sitting in a chair beside her father's chair. Historia's eyes widened when their eyes met

He saw the man who saved her and the lady last night wearing a red uniform of the Red Lions, the troupe he was handling. Duke Ascavel slowly turned his eyes to her and looked at her as if he already knew that he would surely meet Historia in the dining hall.

"You!" Historia shouted, pointing at him, which made all of the people in the dining hall look at her.
