Twelve

Historia's mind went blank after hearing what the man said to him. "W-water spirit?" she asks, and the man nods his head. Historia snickered and laughed aloud, making the man angry.

"What are you laughing at!?" he yelled, but Historia continued to laugh. Her stomach hurts as she continues to laugh and stare at him. "You don't believe me, do you?" The man's serious tone caused Historia to stop laughing.

"How am I supposed to believe you then? You aren't giving me any reason to believe you," Historia replied, crossing her arms and raising her eyebrows at him.

The man took out the water inside the glass and immediately threw it in her face, causing her eyes to widen. Her face is now wet, as is her nightgown, prompting her to look at him angrily. The man simply smirks and looks at her. "You believed in me now?"

"Whatever, just get out of my room!" Historia yelled, throwing her pillow at him, but the man was quick and dodged it.

"My Lady, what happened? I keep hearing you yelling—" Sally quickly opened the door, stunned and frozen when she saw an unknown man inside the Lady's room. She was about to scream and call the guards when the man quickly silenced her by throwing water in her face.

"Women these days." He clicked his tongue and glanced at Sally. "Listen you maid, head inside and quickly lock the door, or else someone might see us here," he went on to say. Sally looks at Historia first, and the Lady motions for her to do what he is saying. Sally quickly enters and closes the door.

The man introduced himself as Typhis and lived for thousands of years. He explained what happened and how he was able to enter Historia's room. Typhis just forced himself to get out from the Spirit world as he wanted to get contracted with Historia, that is why she was able to summon him. It is not because she was able to, but the spirit forced himself to get out. Because of that, Typhis began to tease her.

"Don't think highly of yourself, I just choose you because I have to. I have no choice. If I were given a chance to choose my master, that would be your step-sister Admarine Crane or your Brother Redam Crane, however, Redam doesn't have any interest in Magic," Typhis went on to say.

"Then go pick Admarine as your master, you motherfvcker!" Historia yelled and cursed him, infuriating Typhis. They are now trying to punch each other, but Sally tries to calm them down, causing them to stop.

"Hmph!" They both say, looking away. "Out of my sight!" both of them exclaimed at the same time, causing them to look at each other and prepare to fight again, but Sally intervened again.

"Both of you stopped! It is not nice to fight with someone!" Sally reprimanded them, and the two simply looked away from each other. She just let out a heavy sigh at how the two behaved in front of her.

"Before I sign this contract, Can I know what is the reason for you to force yourself to get out from the Spirit World just to have a contract with me?" Historia asks holding the paper that Typhis gave to her.

"It was your grandmother's request before she died. She was my master before, however she chose you to become my new master. Harthia is one of the strongest magic wielders in the empire for years, that is why the Crane Family became the third strongest magic wielder family of the empire," Typhis went on to say. Historia had an unexpected thought about it.

During her stay at the Duchy's residence, she has yet to learn anything about the Crane Family line as she only had a little information about the Crane family. 'I guess I'll have to look into it as well,' Historia thought to herself.

"To this day, I still don't know why she chose you; I believe you can't even protect yourself." Typhis examines her from head to foot. "Look at your body, in just one flick, you'll be dead already," he says with a grin.

"Wait for me to glow up, you dumbass!" Historia yelled, hurling pillows at her. Sally just let out a big sigh as they started fighting again.

Both of them had already signed the contract, which stated that she would be Typhis' master until her death and that he would protect her at all costs.

Historia decided to eat breakfast in her room, and when she finished she decided to go to her father's room and request permission to have herself a personal knight. Typhis was with her as he transformed into a blue fox with a mermaid tail. "What kind of animal is that?" Duke Crane asks her, his gaze drawn to Typhis, who is sitting on the ground beside her.

"I don't know either; I just found him in our garden," Historia said, looking at Typhis who was looking at her Father intently.

"Anyway, you can go to the training ground and pick whoever you want; your brother is also there," The Duke says, prompting Historia to smile and bow to him. The Duke looks at her and calls out her name before she leaves. "You don't have to bow yourself to me. I am your Father," he went on to say. Historia simply smiled at him.

Duke Crane simply looks at her until she leaves the office. "I've already given her personal maids and personal knights, but she just kicked them out; I wonder what that woman is into?" he said, still looking at the door where Historia leaves.

"You are the Duke's daughter yet don't have a personal knight?" Typhis asks her.

"I kicked them out because "YOUR SO-CALLED FAVORITE MASTER" was the one who hired them for me. So she could spy and bully me," Historia replied and rolled her eyes.

"She's not my master, and still you couldn't deny that she's the strongest magic wielder of the water element in this Empire. Better than you," Typhis replied, which made Historia insecure and pissed at the same time. She just calmed herself down and walked faster trying to leave Typhis behind.

Typhis simply shook his head and ran as fast as he could to catch up with her. When Historia comes to a halt, he quickly sits on her shoulder and looks forward. "Oh, Redam is a skilled one," Typhis said, grinning as he watched Redam practice his sword with the other knights.

"Lady Historia! You are here!" One of the knights called her name, prompting her to look at him. He was waving happily at her, which surprised her. It was her first visit to the training ground, and she was certain that she had not interacted with any knights in their residence.

'Maybe that person knew the real Historia back then,' Historia reflected, smiling at him. Her brother abruptly comes to a halt when he notices her sister visiting the training ground and looks at her with a smile on his face.

Everyone looks at her when they notice her presence; however, there is only one person who does not look at her. He was cleaning the training ground, but his body resembled that of a knight. The guy appears to be her exact age. "That one guy there, he is a skillful one. Why not try to pick him and be your personal knight?" Typhis said, looking at the man who was cleaning.

Even though he was clearly not looking, Typhis noticed his eyes turn to look at them seriously, which made him beam a grin. "He is worth it, trust me," he added.
