Poseidon sent the bull to King Minos as a sign of his favor, with the expectation that Minos would sacrifice the bull in Poseidon's honor. However, Minos kept the bull for himself. Angered by Minos' disobedience, Poseidon cursed Pasiphae to fall in love with the bull. The result of this unnatural union was Asterius, the Minotaur, a creature with the body of a man and the head of a bull.
"That certainly isn't a story for modern audiences…" Jason said.
"What are you talking about, Jason?" Helena asked.
"I am thinking about how to deal with the enemies around here," Jason said. "You guys want to head south, but the whole path is blocked. How are you planning to reach that area by using me as a meat shield?"
"What are your plans, then?" Helena asked.
