Instead of helping Dyanne escape from the woman, Garette just stood still, watching in horror. But the horror he felt wasn't from the sight in front of him; it was from the realization that it couldn't possibly be a coincidence that the same woman attacked Dyanne twice while she was with him and screamed "Stay away from Cocaine," again, when his real name was Cocaine.

The same questions that ran through his head back then returned, but this time, they were amplified. Garette was determined to get to the bottom of it.

The woman finally let go of Dyanne's hair, pushing the girl forward. Dyanne grabbed her head, wincing in pain, and immediately slipped her fingers into her roots to massage her scalp.

The woman turned back and ran down the street. Despite Dyanne wincing in pain, Garette didn't spare her a single glance as he took off and chased the woman, bumping into people as he ran.
